Where is Pedal Sport?
I have been looking around. All I found is Pedalspot in SS2 and Sri Petaling.

Regarding BB efficiency and bike performance...

Well, the whole bike does contribute to your cycling efficiency.
BB, headset, crank, pedal, seatpost, saddle, handlebar and even the decals on your bike.
The question is how much?

People pay hundreds for carbon seat post to save 30gr. Does it help? Yes. How much? donno.

Will ceramic bb helps? Sure... How much? Donno. Unless you want to go into technical calculation, trials and etc.

But... at the end... it is just a recreational sports where you make friends and bros.
Just go toilet and do your morning banking before you ride. He! He! U already shaved at least 100-500gr depending on ur bank account... whistling.gif

And enjoy the sport before Nerve Impingement comes into picture...

I agree with this sort of experience. Used to have rusty raleigh steel heavy like the titanic mountain bike. Loved the hell out of it and rode it everywhere and to school 6 years ago. and then it got stolen. But it got me hooked on biking till now.

Used to ride GTA after i lost my steely. Weird Easing forks and very very basic components. Im talking shimano TZ basic. Lighter but the frame flexes during climbs. But it did teach me a lot of things. How to pedal better, how to hop onto curbs. Now the bike has been rebuilt to be a pasar/touring bike.

Use the bikes well, no matter what it is. Want to pedal faster, make time and train. The engine is our heart, the dream is in it as well.

HAHA! KSH and Boonfoo will always have customers coming in and out everyday. Cheapskates like me always go in and feast my eyes there anyway. Scared to touch anything except the pricetag and drop my jaws.

For me, its good that people ride what they have and do what they want it. Want to ride downhill on a towny? Try it. Want do DJ on an XC bike? Do it.

I see it this way, we should stop "buying" the skills.

But, to each his own.  smile.gif

Like this ah... Why u don't wear sarong go work? Why u use computer instead of chalk n blackboard?
There is a thing called improvement. And technological advancement.

Yeah... U can walk from Klang to KL but you don't.
If there is a more precise bike for the purpose... Why don't we?
You probably r one of those driving a Kancil at 200km/h on Highway and proud about it without thinking yours, family and others' safety.

Hi,

I wanted to buy a mountain bike but not sure what size to buy.  I am 6'1" tall so I suppose I shoud go for a 20"frame size?

I prefer folding type so it can easily fit in my car so I am considering the Hummer but I am open to other brand.

Budget less than RM1k to 2k max.

Any recommendation?
*
Probably you go folding bike forum will get a better answer. Over here... Anything below 3k... We ask u choose the color you like.

hey guy, is the price reasonable at khcycle damansara perdana?
*
Its a bike boutique. U won't get the best price like someone's father's shop... but you also won't get slaughtered because of noobness.

Some bike shops around Klang Valley go for 5-15% discount rate. Some... suka suka open price.

QUOTE(lightning69 @ Apr 4 2013, 08:57 PM)
Regarding mountain bike size, what is recommended for a 6'1" tall person? I saw size like s,m,l or 17" or 20" frame etc
*
Best is go to a proper bike shop and get recommendation.

Hey guys,
Just now I was browsing through bikes at a shop in penang.
As I went in to look around for a starter bike
they asked me to get merida matts 400 (or something like that) has nine speed and what not for 1.9k+-

So I wonder if i can get anything better for that price.
Only cycled when i was young. still debating weather to get a mountain bike or a road bike. but apparently they said that mountain bike is better in penang as got alot of off trails and when wanna cycle on the road just cycle. Hmmm. Any advises? smile.gif
*
Most bike shops will recommend Merida.
In this forum... usually u only find newbies buy Merida.
Anyway, read page 1 for how to choose your first bike.

c) Join friends and go biking in some cross country tracks. e.g. offroad road for cars. e.g. Kelapa Sawit plantation area (where usually cars can come in but need to slow down)

prefer AM, what can i get with budget around 3k?

please suggest

Since you say wanna join ur friends... it is better to ask your friends first what to get. Narrow down your choices. Then, probably easy for us to help.
But read page 1 for an idea.

Hi all,

last time I once ask here whater should I bought Scott Scale 960 or not. End up i didnt buy the bike & upgrade my existing bike. Currently using Raleigh Elite Disc, more than 2 years using this bike.

1. Tyre change to WTB Nano 2.0
2. Saddle WTB (didnt remember the model)
3. Fork change to Epicon x1 remote
4. Handlebar & stem change to Funn Full On
5. Disc brake before using mechanical type. Now bought a second hand shimano deore through BBS
6. Install front & rear fender brand GUB
7. then bought Cat Eye Rapid 5 & Judo for lighting. Hope it can last longer than previous cheap one that i use

but not buy all this in lump sum. slow slow upgrade. really love the new setup & price cheaper than buying a new scott.

Nice.
Upgrading is part of the fun.
Enjoy the sport.

QUOTE(ohmlawx @ Apr 10 2013, 10:32 PM)
yes. once the thing worn out then only gonna upgrade it.. feel is nice. already used to the new handlebar. Funn Full On length is 750mm. Before using it with original feel not nice. After change the stem as well now is ok.. the Epicon is much2 lighter than the original fork.
*
750 for an XC bike is too long.
700 is ok.
Long handlebar meant for AM/FR/DH for stability. But u tend to feel sore after long ride.
