typically for riding- the shoe should be stiff.

Went to Karnival MtB at putra jaya yesterday.
Approx 200++ rider, cover 2 laps total 48km, around putrajaya off road, inclusive of PCP.

Oh man, really din go down well to me n my bud. Exhausted after 18km n cramp started to set in. At the end finish at 1230 only one loop, while most other finished 2 loops before 12. Pai seh man.

I thought there could be a lot of santai rider....
Real relieve to made it back to the starting point. They we kind n even gave a finisher medal.

no la, it is actually not banned. Just got one weirdo trying to prevent ppl entering the trail. He is no body but on and off try to block off the enterance. Dunno what is his agenda.

infact, those few "official" care takers like Mr Foo and his gang had just extended the trail by another 2km to 6km.

Trek bike is ok, except the reputation sort of like fall from grace after the Lance Armstrong scandal and Aaron Gwin jumpship to specialized... if that means anything to you at all.

I am using EX7 2011 model.... decent bike, not major complaint. Though i am not hardcore type which maximize the bike potential.

decent fox fork and shox w CTD & DRCV
deore FD & shifter- seems to be not very appetizing.

while EX6,
i would almost say forget about it- as the RS fork and shox

EX7 2 years ago was rm 7200.
For that small price benefit- there is no point to export in la. ( also i doubt that is ur friend cost price...profit margin should be 30-40% of retail price?)

there are many other decent brand- giant, scott etc.
i am just noob, don't dare to recommend. only can share personal preference

Remedy ... is a bit more hard core- and it cost like Rm 10k or more. i doubt it is good for beginner ( i assume that you are one).
Also it is no so popular around here.

at those price ( 7600) i think it is not worth it.

well.... someone clumsy shouldn't be riding a MTB. it is a dangerous sport.
Anyway- we don't see the trouble to mount the tyre without any tools. And worst still- we had not seen anyone to bring a repair stand to the trail head LOL!
