hello all

i feel pity at my kids; boring during weekends. i plan to buy a budget tablet for them

i heard many tablet from china entered our shore and sells like hotcake. reason is they're cheap and comparable to establised brand like samsung, sony and apple. but quality and reliability of course is main issue since it made from china

as i researching with my best friend mr.google, i found 2 china product that seems quite good in quality and reliablity
- ployor momo
- ainol

but still it made from china and i think many2 time should i bought it or not. so i keep searching and i found 2 more product
- alcatel
- ninetology

by looking at this 2, it look promising. alcatel as you all know is handphone maker. while ninetology eventho most of its product also from china (ZTE i think), they had establich nationwide support. so people will not afraid buy ninetology

anyway, here the spec

alcatel one touch t10

Aiya, maybe he is not tech savy. Nvm la~

If u buy china tab, there is a risk when you need to get warranty. If Asus, no warranty issue, just send the tab to Asus service centre. rclxms.gif

Asus memo pad la.... Warranty, value for moneh, reliable but expect it to lag a bit when playing heavy graphic games.

And one more thing, internal storage is important. A number of apps can't be transferred to SD card so a 64GB SD card also is useless when your internal memory is bloated.

looking to its spec, looks promising too. and some website said its storage 8gb is SSD

but comparing other 2 which is alcatel ot t10 and 9tology outlook, its spec quite the same
all 3 cpu run at 1ghz. different on cpu type. memo use a9 cortex. the other 2 use a8 cortex
t10's gcu use rock chip which gc800. the other 2 use mali-400
all 7 inch but each with different pixel. memo pad 1024x600, t10 800x400 and outlook express a bit weird 800x600
memo pad & t10 when looking at pixel, it resemble 16:9 ratio screen but outlook is 4:3
memory for outlook only 512mb, the other 2 is 1gb
the rest of spec is different each other

talking about its performance on speed which is highly related to ram, cpu and gcu, it looks like they on par each other but with different chip

question is
- all 1ghz cpu but different cpu type, arm 8 and 9. what's the different beside of type?
- what's different between gc800 and mali400 gcu? got effect on games especially 3d type?
- some apps very specific on pixel. is it true? how about these 3 tab since its pixel bigger?

thanks. those have any tablet are very welcoming in here smile.gif

how about this?

user posted image

acer iconia b1-a71

specfication:
android jelly bean
320g weight
7 inch display 1024*600 170ppi capacitive multitouch
2710mha battery
mediatek 8371 1.2ghz dual code cpu
powerVR SGX531 gcu
512mb ram
8gb storage

this spec identical to asus memo pad, just that asus use arm9 1ghz single code, mali-400 gpu & 1gb ram. acording to antutu benchmark, memo pad score lower (45++) than iconia b1 (67++). and suprisingly its price really cheap, rm399 from evernew; authorised acer seller

since established brand do selling budget tablet, so i try to stay away on chinese made. im most care on their after sale service and support so if anything goes wrong i can get warranty

now, talk about its spec. one thing i confuse is their cpu, gpu and ram
- like alcatel t10 and ninetology t7700, they use arm8. memo use arm9 but iconia b1 use mediatek 8371. what's the different beside its manufacturer name? and which is faster
- what difference between these 3 gpu? mali-400, gc800 and powerVR sgx531. and which is faster?

someone please elighten me on these. i really wlecoming any tableet geeks, techy guys and specialist here in lowyat to explain about it. and do compare each other as i cannot do so. im not so techy on this thing

and last but not least on these 4 tablets, IMPRESS ME nod.gif

thanks

If I not mistaken after reading somewhere testing report, mali 400 got higher score in 2D but lowest in 3D. PowerVR SGX531 got higher score in 3D but lowest in 2D...
