Agree, don't really need to know absolutely everything on the get go, or learn like crazy trying to cramp everything in a week.
Hell I played for 6+ years and still is a noob. I relax relax only... Old boss haven't kill, now will change into new end game bosses already...

Haiz... MTX so expensive I cannot handle... Hope for the best from year end / new year free box nia.
Dulu alang-alang buy one or two piece really not good, ended up not using them because cannot match. I got that glowing gold wing but not really match anything...
$60 is a bit high for some people but definitely recommend a full set.

Remember to save a few points for later - for the free box upon spending any point event.

i am kedekut player, free game meant free, played DOTA2 several years spent RM0 LOL... this POE, i spent points for basic stash, without it bit hard in game. after several leagues, think to support GGG for the the only one time LOL, still the main concern the pack comes with points, key factor made me willing buy it are points and angle look mtx. if without free pts, dont think i will take it. i can merely figure GGG may introduce more stash or mtx for some special stuff in game in future, so these pts can be spend if needed.

but why so hype for blight went into Core? for the addition keystone mechanic?

Yes it's quite an important feature, would be very bad if got removed.
Not having it available at levelling is a bit of bummer though, the oil are very useful to fix stat problems, since those +30 stat are really cheap to get.
But is fine for second char+, or get through trading if needed earlier on.

Getting other keystones are quite expensive tbh, the gold oil is being needed way too much and drop way too little.
So that is pretty much limited to end-game only.

On the topic of vision -- Ultrawide 21:9 or more is the way to go.
Do it with Windowed mode, custom resolution or whatever, the larger vision field is very useful.

I know won't get pass half the story in HC... so yeah...

ALT+F4 still got a bit of delay before the server actually logs you out, probably because of the ping distance delay.

HC mean what? higher creep boss damage? high enemy life? what else?

Having a goal is important in any games.
PoE does have 10 act of story to go through, it basically serve as a big tutorial for end game contents.
So, finish the story is the first step.
And try not to die too much doing it, understand how to survive is important;
don't just mindlessly zerg the boss and didn't learn a thing, you'll see them again and again later in end game.

The gameplay will get very dreadful if you kill too slow.
Too slow = build problem. Figure out how to improve your build is the prime aspect in PoE.
What is "too slow"? Spent more than 3 seconds on a pack of white trash mobs, that's "too slow". They should die in 1 hit.
Bad DPS, figure out why, bad survivality, figure out why. Improve your character continuously.

Typical new player issue:
"help I kill very slow!" - use support gems properly, item with 4 links is your first major target, so you can have a primary skill with 3 support gems. More support gems = more powerful skill (but also higher mana costs). Of course, also check your weapon.
"help I keep dying!" - check your resist, ensure they all at 75% cap (except chaos). Use the crafting station in your hideout to your advantage. If you don't have a hideout yet, figure out how to get one. It's very important. Also, at a later stage, make sure your life flask have "instant recovery on low life", as well as using defensive utility flasks like "granite flasks" / "basalt flasks".
"help my pace is very slow!" - the other primary target is to get a boot with high movement speed, up to 30%. There is a "vendor recipe" you can do to craft yourself, or just hope for random drop - always identify rare boots and hope for the best. // Also, spam the quicksilver flask to run faster.

Push the story quickly, don't try to full clear the area (except that one necromancer quest at Act 1 & act6), it is pointless.
Try to finish story within 30 hours. Better yet do it in 20. Experienced people can do it in less than 10.
This timing is not just for showing off, it is an important metric because we do need to re-level new characters often.

16 you barely see anything of the game yet. This is a common feedback from new player tbh. "Hei I just hit lv18 and..."
Finish the story first, and improving your character along the way.
Your first character will 99.99% likely to be sucks and can't progress at some point, that's normal.
What important is that you learn the [why], and do it better in your next characters.

The typical "benchmark" for levelling is 300HP per act. So by the time you reach Act10 hopefully have 3000HP.
DPS is harder to say because there are too many skills, they behave differently. But Act6 5000dps, Act10 10000dps should be fine for most generic skills.
The more the better. 10k dps barely able to transition into end game comfortably...

I think you're barely into Act2, so that's still to early to say anything. So yea, again, just progress the story for now.
You'll unlock more gems down the line to make your skill behave more interestingly. Check the accessory NPC after you finish some quests.
You'll unlock most gems by end of Act4, but not all of them until you reach Act6.

i think he need to climb back the thread where i started in this POE topic with all of your guidance lol i am total learnt from zero until having some currencies in inventory, not much, but got improvement.
