Can't believe a lot developers are shifting to WP now Nokia releases #2InstaWithLove social app to put some pressure on Instagram QUOTE(rogrog @ Mar 6 2013, 10:48 AM) Updated my Display+touch. Note that I cant press the sunlight readability and battery saver I've updated mine & can press both options. I think it's safe to say you need 'Portico' update for these to work. QUOTE(keramat @ Mar 8 2013, 04:41 PM) I received call fr Nokia KLCC, booked Pillow Wireless Charging but color available only red, yellow 1 more forgot. I want black but not available. U guys prefer wat color? That's funny, here in KK only have Fatboy Black colour one, no red or yellow. I want yellow to match my phone QUOTE(Calvin871989 @ Mar 8 2013, 04:49 PM) Why does the email on our phone not follow the email on our desktop/laptop ? You'll have to press Sync button in the email app on the phone if you wanna see changes fast on your desktop. Else the emails on the phone will only sync according to the schedule set in the phone. Mine I set to every hour only.for example, on the phone where I would received an email then open to read it. After doing so, I may choose to delete it. while on the desktop/laptop, nothing was untouched. The mail received on my phone which have already been deleted is showing up in my inbox (desktop/laptop), unread. this is for my hotmail account between. |

QUOTE(joonchingg @ Mar 12 2013, 09:59 AM) Poeple that has already flashed 920 with Portico, I just wanna ask something. Does the phone still heats up if u use it for more than 10 minutes? I think this really depends on what you're doing. It only heats up on me fast when1) I'm playing games 2) I'm in a bad reception area & I'm watching streaming videos/reading stuff online. |

QUOTE(^pomen_GTR^ @ Mar 13 2013, 02:45 PM) yeah..so much about carl zeiss lense brag... Actually the blur u see has nothing to do with Carl Zeiss lens. It's a Digital Noise Reduction filter that Nokia used that is causing it. There are 2 ways to deal with it. 1st as someone mentioned, buy the app called ProShot & shoot pics with it instead. Very worth the $$$ since it gives a lot of control. Else you can edit your pic using the built in photo editor, choose Auto-fix, that will also clear the Digital NR. Also I suspect the built in picture viewer doesn't show a more higher resolution part of the pic when zoomed in, hence causing it to show being more blur.macro shot really nice.... but long shot/zooming out la...not up to expectation (in context of lumia 900) but still no screen shot function, and browser not supporting flash is it in 920??? For screen shot, press both Power key & Windows key same time. For browser not supporting flash, it's the trend going forward since Adobe themselves have already retired their mobile flash plugin themselves. I hope that answers your questions |

QUOTE(hafiez @ Mar 19 2013, 10:56 AM) guys, As long as it's a charger with micro USB connector will work but depending on amp will determine how fast can charge your phone. Not very sure if anything below 1A can charge our phone also but don't worry, won't have side effects.as we know, we have 920 battery issue. the battery can drain very fast in no time (depends on the usage). so i want to ask, can i just use BB charger with 0.75A (iinm) to charge my phone? got any side effects? just for temporary use before i buy another Nokia charger to put at my office. I myself am using my Nexus 7 charger (output 2A) to charge my L920 & Nexus 7. No side effect except it charges my L920 so darn fast. Too troublesome to carry 2 chargers |

QUOTE(EXkurogane @ Mar 19 2013, 04:15 PM) Eh, i add the words into the keyboard if it doesnt exist; nowdays i type halfway for words like 'imouto' (younger sister), 'kusotare' (you piece of sh!t, or d!ckhead) also it will suggest it as the first one. Godly word suggestion, very accurate... Hahahaha! Yeap the word correction/suggestion system rocks. What you add will be suggested 1st so I added all my local slang in like 'bah', 'meh', 'leh', 'liau' Also if you didn't notice the word flow system on the keyboard, it's darn good in suggesting the NEXT word you might want to type. This is similar to SwiftKey on Android. QUOTE(thesun @ Mar 19 2013, 04:21 PM) idk why, i dint like auto keyboard.. Practice more & I can assure you, you'll love the auto keyboard. this is my first touchscreen phone, so, better have more practice |

Tap that to add it.QUOTE(simmarjit @ Mar 20 2013, 10:15 AM) Just bought Amazing Weather HD and it is really amazing LOL Yeap, Amazing Weather HD is really nice, but I got small issue with the lockscreen wallpaper option. But it's a small issue. I just hope Viber VOIP comes out soon ... QUOTE(GKWong @ Mar 20 2013, 10:48 AM) No the lockscreen can't do animated with weather.QUOTE(GKWong @ Mar 20 2013, 11:16 AM) For me, I set my location manually and turn off Location for the weather app, so it won't keep polling for my location which is draining the battery. Actually Weather Flow & Amazing Weather HD are same price but Amazing Weather HD is on 50% sale now. Quite worth it if u ask me.Been using Weather Flow since I got my phone. But I think Amazing Weather HD got more info and functions compared with Weather Flow which is more expensive. |

QUOTE(GKWong @ Mar 20 2013, 03:05 PM) I don't think the current GDR2 is beta anymore. As it is been available for wide range of product codes and region as of now. 2 weeks ago, Yes.... it is still beta... For GDR2 beta, the version number is preceded by BETA behind it. Actually GDR2 is not out yet. It's only supposed to come out in May like that. The latest update from Nokia is just post Portico small updates. For GDR2 BETA, there's still "Lumia color profile" option in the Display+Touch. As for the current GDR2, that option is removed. As of now I got 2 phones running on GDR2 doesn't have any problem. Perhaps the changelogs is saying that it suppose to improves the phone responsiveness and stability as well. It might be some of the 3rd party apps are making the OS behaving weirdly... |

QUOTE(solution2u @ Mar 21 2013, 08:50 PM) I see. Waiting for Portico. Yeap this is one of the better ones. Unfortunately it doesn't support tagging of friends in comments. I can't even tag friends in comments using IE also, how sad. But there's one app that can do it. It's called 'facebook Touch'. You can try that too.For those who are using Facebook, check out The Facebook. I think this one of the best Facebook app http://www.windowsphone.com/en-us/store/ap...28-044d047e8571 --------------------- WHATS NEW IN V1.2 --------------------- + Faster Back navigation + Back no longer scrolling to top (the previous page won't even need to reload now) + Swipe horizontally to go back + Added sharer to post via picture > ... > share > The Facebook + Added notifications on Live Tile QUOTE(GothFebrio @ Mar 22 2013, 01:07 AM) guys, stop calling the update GDR2. GDR2 is scheduled to be release around summer. GDR1 was portico. its an OS update from microsoft for wp8. the new firmware is a new firmware from nokia, still running on portico. Haha told them it's not GDR2. It's just 'new updates'. GDR2 is meant to be the new base firmware release targeted for release in May/June. Sadly with our Nokia M'sia speed, no idea when it'll arrive for our phones later.i wonder if nokia malaysia will release the portico update together with the new firmware.. |

QUOTE(wtkace @ Mar 22 2013, 09:21 AM) Help me please, my .0008 lumia 920 drain battery like hell!!! Someone did suggest me to perform soft reset, will it wipe off all my current data?? You mean soft reset as Volume Down & Power key for 8 secs? No that doesn't wipe your data. Try that see if it helps. Another thing you should do is uninstall all apps that keeps connecting to internet like Whatsapp, Wechat, see if that helps. The last resort is Full Reset, which is done in Settings, About. That will wipe out everything in your phone & start over. |

QUOTE(zc_squash @ Apr 2 2013, 12:43 AM) Just migrated to Lumia 920 from Android yesterday. Having been with Android for the past 3 years, I took a huge leap of faith to switch over - especially because I rely heavily on many Google services. Welcome! While I have not yet let my phone run down till 10% (15% was lowest I think), as mentioned by other forumer there are ppl who suffer from this issue. Just curious, what is your firmware version on your phone? While there are many shortcomings on WP8 that I noticed almost as soon as switched over, I can still live with them for now. But there are couple of things that really irked me. Firstly the unit I'm having is rather odd. It turned off by itself when there is still about 10% of battery left. When I plug it to the charger it shows me the battery charging icon (red, 1 bar). It won't turn on no matter how long I left it to charge (well, I waited more than an hour, which is already unusually long). I found out that I need to do a 'soft reset' (vol down + power) to force it out of sleep. Is this normal for WP8 / Lumia 920? Secondly, one of the major reasons why I purchased the phone is for the bundled Nokia Drive. When I tried to download it, I received an error code 805a0194. Apparently many other recent buyers are facing similar problem. Any of you here have the same issue? How can I install the app manually, ie where can I download the installation file? On a side note, does anyone know any good RSS reader app with Live Tile support? I loved Pulse on Android a lot but unfortunately there isn't a WP8 version of that app. Edit: Sorry, one more thing. I set my Store region to US. Is that what you guys do too or you use Malaysia? Thanks! Nokia Drive+ Beta seems to be back in store. It shows up now on my phone with last updated date of 27/3/2013. A good RSS Reader? You can try Weave or Fuse, but I prefer Weave. Yes you can add your own custom URL in Weave though it's quite hidden. Fuse has a lot of nice offline capabilities & even has a UI that mimics Pulse . Yes it's OK to set store to US region. That way you get access to more apps. But I personally switch back to Malaysia store if an app I want is available in Malaysia store (not a lot available) since it's actually slightly cheaper to buy from Malaysia store. Have fun! |

QUOTE(zc_squash @ Apr 3 2013, 12:05 AM) Thanks, Zachary! Yeah I agree in terms of POIs Google Maps is still better than Nokia Maps. But the most important thing is that we get free worldwide voice navigation with offline maps. I'll take that over POIs I managed to download HERE Drive+ Beta using QR code link. Haven't tested it yet though but as compared to Google Maps I feel the Nokia map is a bit lacking in terms of POIs. I'll check out Weave EDIT: Oh, one more thing. Why is my 'Find My Phone' always appear as 'off' although I have turned it on? No luck finding my phone either from windowsphone.com. Any of you guys managed to get this to work? I've got 'Find My Phone' to work but it isn't always reliable. It may work then but not work now, very finicky. Still no OTA update showing up on my phone but yeah, I see ppl commenting on Nokia MY FB page getting the update but unable to install. |
