Only tried UC with my old Symbian C6.
Good performance but sometimes having trouble to access some website. In the end, still prefer Opera Mini (on Symbian).
Think u just gotta download, try and compare both of them to your liking.

Your phone already has the Portico Update.
And Nokia just released the latest Firmware update, which i believe not available in Msia yet!
Battery performance should be good with the Portico update. make sure you have the background task setting set to blocking those unnecessary apps.

No idea with video player.

For a start, I think Nokia Collection Apps are worth installing, especially if u use them.

There's still a paid app for camera loved by lots of users. Mentioned a few times in this thread itself. I've forgotten the name.

If you wish to share your photo on other internet connected device (other smartphones/ laptop and etc), download PhotoBeamer. You can simultaneously stream the photos on the other screen.

I'm using micro-sim from DIGI, no such issue. 3G and WiFi always on at home. Guess most probably is the sim issue.

Anyone facing any problem with their L920 not locking the screen?
I've faced this situation twice.
My L920 wouldn't autolock the screen. The screen will dim but stay on like that.
Pressing the power/lock button wouldn't help.

The only solution is to turn off and then switch on again.
When I first encounter this situation i thought is a coincident until I faced this issue again today.

By the way, my L920 is pre-Portico update.

PDF definitely need separate app. Microsoft has an app for that but performance is not remarkable although it allows you to view your PDF file. There's few other pdf viewer app but I've tried PDF Reader by Misha Uliutin, Oleh Lutsenko.
Not bad. Open the files fast.

But take note that all these are viewers and doesn't allow on the go editing or even putting in comments or annotation.
I really wish there's app for putting paste-on notes on the PDF file or allowing highlighting. Very useful for a student.

The CC-1043 case is notorious for getting dirty easily(catching colors from clothing dye). There's discussion on forum like WPCentral of methods to clean it off but I don't recall any guaranteed method though. Some suggested alcohol to rub the color off. No idea how effective is it. Just sharing what I read. Good luck!

p.s. I'm gonna get myself a CC-1043 too but would definitely avoid carrying it in tight pockets to avoid abrasion defect.

The holder can be used both on windscreen and the aircond vent?
My only doubt with the air-cond vent holder is whether the air-cond vent is strong enough to hold the phones in a same position. Afraid some bump on the road then the holder sway downwards and dropped the phone.
If the holder can be fixed on an exact position without swaying, I will definitely get one of these.

Anyway, tested the Find My Phone function few times. Quite satisfy with it.
Locating,ringing and locking works.
However, there's some limitation to the function for pre-portico phones. Why? Because there's an option to use Push (via data) to send commands to the phone rather than relying on SMS which takes some time. And I hope they can implement this function via IMEI, so the phone can be disabled as long as your Microsoft account is signed in.
