looking for a board game to add to my collection. Something like risk genre. Can recommend any board game which is nice?

Board games are a nice way to spend quality time with friends.

my group have been playing risk for a couple months... great game for a group to hang around and pass time.

Looking for other board games with strategy elements like risk. Every week play risk also will get bored.. I've done some of my own modifications to the risk gameplay which we adopted to make it more interesting (borrowed the "place of power" and the "effects card" mechanic from Risk LOTR edition)
