New thread will be created by this weekend if TS still does not reply here. We will then move on to the venue and time from there onwards.
Meet up for discussion or meet up on the day of charity?

Count me in too please.. I did charity work for Shelterhome.org last year. I brought them to PSN and AngelLingLing also sponsored some dessert for them too..

Some photos : http://www.facebook.com/LendAHand.my/photos_albums

Only did 1 event so far... find it hard to gather people sad.gif .. Many people volunteer themself but end up lots of them missing too

How about give them a visit? bring them good food and drinks. If got donation i can arrange to deliver to them also. Should we start a new tread to collect donation?

I not sure where to go? need someone to coordinate.

Hi umikosan, thanks for the reply! Everyone gathered here is very excited to help out in this charity event. Sorry that we did not know you were busy with your new business opening. My birthday is on 25th of April as well, that is why I planned to do some charity. But if it is gonna be on a weekday, I am not able to make myself available. Sorry.

To make it easy for everyone, please help to decide a home from the list below by Wednesday, 27th March 2013, 11.00pm. If there is no opinion / votes, I would then suggest a home and we start planning from there. smile.gif

Hi guys/ladies,

just wanted to highlight this; I hope i didnt offend anyone or sound like Im ranting about it.

I'd emailed one of the orphanges that I read on one of the threads who needed help - Stepping Stones, and they replied "We are glad to hear of your offer , however, we do not have the time to accept/slot in your visit to our home."

I didnt even put in a specified time/date, I just said we can provide some bought/homemade food and some services (haircuts, painting walls etc).

Honestly I am a bit appalled, but I suppose they need money (cash) more.

Perhaps we can go back to the same shelter that LazyKurosaki went to?

Hi Jessica,

Well, you did a great job in helping! No worries on what they have said. If that's what they replied, it just means that they are not in need for us to donate anything and they are financially stable to survive. I have been to a few homes and they are always welcoming you anytime of the day. If a home that requests for cash, normally I will just ignore them. They wouldn't mind what is being donated and they will always make good use out of it.

=)

yeah they even attached their monthly financial expenditure in their reply blink.gif

Oh wells, another eye opener.

I was also wondering if it's convenient/suitable to bring my dog along... You know how pets can help cheer people up? I was hoping we can do that in malaysia, but also need to consider whether these homes allow. I dont mind just sitting outside with my dog, and wait for willing kids to come out and pet/play with him. Because honestly, Im not a great communicator with little kids, so having a pet there can help open me (and them) up blush.gif
