Hi bro, I'm planning to charity somewhere that week. But why you plan to do on 24th April 2013? Any special events going on?

My suggestion is, try moving it to a weekend so that more people of the working adults class are able to join in the good cause..

Hope this is still on-going and will be successful! thumbup.gif

Hi Guys,

not sure if this is still happening cuz TS doesnt seem to be replying PM....
but regardless, are yall interested to do it?

i can try and ask for bubble tea sponsors, if not i suppose other drinks or food will do?

All in all, let's just plan a happy day for an orphanage; what yall think?

Great kakaakajes! Okay, first of all we need to identify the orphanage and contact them to know what are their needs.

I am proposing it on the 20th April 2013. We have about one month from now to start planning and make it a successful event.
(I know the date cannot be fit for everyone but if you really wish to join but not able to, you may also contribute by passing the stuffs you bought to others who are attending)

P/S: I suggest to open a new topic by this weekend if T/S is still not replying. As his tittle and date there is misleading (If we are really changing to a weekend date).

And really thank you to everyone who are joining! We will make it a successful one!! thumbup.gif

Thanks for the prompt replies guys/girls  thumbup.gif
Firstly, I hope we are not being rude in 'riding' on this thread for now, but like nevenchailj said, let's open a new thread once we have a date and venue confirmed, or by this saturday, whichever is faster ok?
Date: Im okay with 20th April, Sat.
Venue: Where are all of you located? KL? PJ? Will try to narrow down a few orphanages around the areas we are closest to...
Contributions: I dont think it will be a issue, but as a precaution, i'll just try ask the orphanages if there are any concerns about us (ie strangers) providing food for them. also, i think if anyone has old clothes/books/toys, i think we can also bring down?

Lastly, please feel free to spread the message on your signatures, or to your friends/family etc.
Cheers and thanks tons,
Jessica smile.gif

Try to refer to the link below, it's pinned on LYN Community Projects Board

We have to identify the one in need most..

Just my 2 cents from my past experience, normally when we have identified the homes, we contact them to get a list of what is needed most as all the homes have different needs to cater different group of people (Eg: adults, kids, babies)

If some are interested in providing drinks / foods, we should be asking permission in advance to do so.

Yes we can try to gather old clothes, books, toys from friends and families.

Last but not least, let's share in our SIGGY!! rclxms.gif

New thread will be created by this weekend if TS still does not reply here. We will then move on to the venue and time from there onwards.

How about give them a visit? bring them good food and drinks. If got donation i can arrange to deliver to them also. Should we start a new tread to collect donation?
I not sure where to go? need someone to coordinate.

Hi umikosan, thanks for the reply! Everyone gathered here is very excited to help out in this charity event. Sorry that we did not know you were busy with your new business opening. My birthday is on 25th of April as well, that is why I planned to do some charity. But if it is gonna be on a weekday, I am not able to make myself available. Sorry.

To make it easy for everyone, please help to decide a home from the list below by Wednesday, 27th March 2013, 11.00pm. If there is no opinion / votes, I would then suggest a home and we start planning from there. smile.gif

Hi guys/ladies,

just wanted to highlight this; I hope i didnt offend anyone or sound like Im ranting about it.

I'd emailed one of the orphanges that I read on one of the threads who needed help - Stepping Stones, and they replied "We are glad to hear of your offer , however, we do not have the time to accept/slot in your visit to our home."

I didnt even put in a specified time/date, I just said we can provide some bought/homemade food and some services (haircuts, painting walls etc).

Honestly I am a bit appalled, but I suppose they need money (cash) more.

Perhaps we can go back to the same shelter that LazyKurosaki went to?

Hi Jessica,

Well, you did a great job in helping! No worries on what they have said. If that's what they replied, it just means that they are not in need for us to donate anything and they are financially stable to survive. I have been to a few homes and they are always welcoming you anytime of the day. If a home that requests for cash, normally I will just ignore them. They wouldn't mind what is being donated and they will always make good use out of it.

=)

Dear all, I've sms-ed to umikosan and he said that he's still waiting for confirmation from the organizer. The date is still not confirmed but tentatively on 20th April 2013.
