That is what happened to me a few days back.
I thought it was due to some corrupted files in the sd card.
So I reformat my sd card, but the media server problem did not fade away.
I took the last resort to full factory reset my phone, and it worked, no more wakelocks due to media server.
I would conclude that the media server is due to some apps.
Correct me if I am wrong.

This is try and error okay. First reboot your phone. idle around 4 hours, and monitor whether this wakelock trigger again. If yes then try to delete possible thumbnails folder such in sdcard and extsdcard DCIM/.thumbnails then delete cache for your gallery related apps. Use storage analyzer app to easily identify unwanted data/folder

To minimize this wakelock, disable touch sound, keytone and unlock sound. In addition, Viber also contribute unwanted count to this wakelock. BBS thread, claim need to check 'use system sound' but other member here claim to uncheck and leave it default. My opinion, uninstall it. I don't use viber, too much wakelock and wakeup.

1. Disable gps and uncheck all location setting. Disable auto check-in in map setting.
