QUOTE(Neo_Y @ Mar 6 2013, 04:28 PM) So now Meteor Grey seem to be the most popular colour. I think the grey is the best suited for the M6. The white makes it too bland and the red doesnt stand out. |

QUOTE(fadzly @ Mar 19 2013, 08:03 AM) sorry bro.. ive fill up for city driving in JB. my fc slightly increase from 6.6 to 6.7l/100km..LOL.. similar findings at the trip computer.. i might say the trip computer is accurately enough No such thing la. Either your trip meter is malfunctioning or you are telling us morning tales. If u can get 6.7L/100km in city driving, then highway at 110kmph should be around 4L/100km. So for a 62L tank, ull get about 1550km range??? That means u can drive from JB to almost Bangkok on 1 tank. Does that even make sense to you ah? Even my previous Vios, the best i could get in town driving was 7.5L/100km and we all know how light the Vios is. No way your 2.0L D segment car is gonna get better FC than a Vios la or anywhere close to it. |

QUOTE(blu3 @ Mar 19 2013, 07:47 AM) Finally saw a mazda6 on the road, 2.5 soul red. Yea Camry seems to be dropping to the bottom of the D segment pack as other better designed models are being introduced by its competitors. Serves them right. I hope this opens up the public's eyes that Toyota isnt the way to go anymore regardless of the after sales network. They have to start offering Malaysians the kind of specs they offer the Americans or Aussies. So big and elegant. Camry off to side road LOL I was at Tropicana Mall last weekend and there was a Toyota roadshow ongoing. I made a beeline for the Camry and pretended to look interested just to see if a salesman would come over to tell me how good the Camry was. I would have really given him a earfull then but sadly nobody approached me. Damn! |

QUOTE(fadzly @ Mar 19 2013, 08:00 AM) LOL.. i can still remember 1 new camry owner purposely stop in the middle of the road for 10secs just to see my new car.. LOL Which road did he stop on actually? U really sure this Camry driver actually stopped in the middle of the road with all the traffic around him for 10 secs JUST to take a look at your car? A 10 sec stop like that would mean something far more than what ure claiming. Maybe an emergency? |

QUOTE(calvin_gsc @ Mar 19 2013, 11:12 AM) Not as obvious as white. That's for sure. Yup. White is the most difficult to maintain for sure. Next comes the dark colors. Silver is the easiest. |

QUOTE(calvin_gsc @ Mar 19 2013, 05:27 PM) So far with just city driving I'm getting 10.1L/100km. Haven't done 1000km service yet So far ive yet to come across a car where the trip meter was accurate. Best way is to do the fill-drive-fill-measure method. Then ull know the correct FC for sure. For my K5, when i did some FC measurements last year for 100% highway, i managed to get an actual range of 1011km driving at a constant 110kmph with 76L of fuel. This adds up to be about 7.5L/100km. This is an actual calculation not based on the trip meter. But i only managed to do that once since that was probably the only time i drove at that speed for the entire journey. But my general FC (measured not based on meter) for 80% highway at 160-170kmph is 10.2L/100km. I have yet to get FC readings for 100% city driving since im never in a city long enough to finish a full tank. But i would expect it to be slightly below 11L/100km. |

QUOTE(Neo_Y @ Mar 20 2013, 10:48 PM) Alright, already drove 108.2km after refill, haven't drop a bar. Bro,![]() I think you should already know by now that the first half of any car fuel gauge will drop much slower than the 2nd half. Its simply because of the location of the maximum gauge on the tank and the fact that when u fill a full tank, it normally goes beyond this max gauge. Just watch how fast the bars disappear after the half way mark. In my car, the last i checked, if driving at 110kmph on the highway, my first bar disappears after about 170km. That's why many times when i drive from KL to Ipoh, i arrive with only 1 bar gone. But usually its 2 bars cuz i go around 140-150kmph. Another thing about the range meter is that its dependent on your previous full tank consumption. So if your previous tank u drove un-economically, then when you refill, ull see a range thats a bit lower than your previous. But again, this range will change according to your driving style. If ure driving economically, the numbers drops slower. In my car, ive found the following in terms of the Distance To Empty (DTE) meter during highway drives: 1) at 110kmph, DTE drops 50km but actual distance covered is 100km 2) at 130kmph, DTE drops 50km, but actual distance covered is 65km 3) 140kmph, DTE drops were the same as actual distance covered. Check it out with your car and see how it differs. But ull need about 3000km on the clock before your FC stabilises. This post has been edited by cybermaster98: Mar 21 2013, 08:07 AM |

QUOTE(Neo_Y @ Mar 21 2013, 08:41 AM) Alright. I will constantly monitor my FC. But too bad I don't drive outstation. No matter. I dont have a chance to gauge FC in city driving myself. Start a log on your FC. To get accurate FC readings, u need to take averages as FC in city driving is highly dependent on traffic and your driving style will will never be exactly the same. There will always be variants. Maybe do it for about 7 days and then take the average. That should give you a much more accurate reading than relying solely on your display meter. Also observe your DTE readings after each fuel up. Record that too as that will give you an indication on your previous FC. Then share your readings here for the other owners to know. But keep in mind that using the cruise control will increase your FC a little simply because it will die die maintain the preset speed while in normal driving, we tend to absentmindedly allow our speed to drop when going uphill. |

QUOTE(Neo_Y @ Mar 21 2013, 09:22 AM) As long as it can achieve 500-600 km for one full tank, I very happy already. Dont forget ure comparing 2 tanks with different capacities. Thats why i always tell ppl never to use the term 'one full tank' or mention currency when talking about FC.My ex-FD2 can only served me about 300-380 km (full tank) only. |

QUOTE(fadzly @ Mar 21 2013, 01:29 PM) No la. Both of them camry and m6 have poor legroom for me. The only car suits me are myvi and proton wira Luckily u mentioned 'for me' or else i would have had no choice but to shoot u. Anyway the class leader in interior space is still the Camry. I dont think anybody would doubt that. |

QUOTE(fadzly @ Mar 22 2013, 04:02 PM) No need to be sad la bro. White is the way. No matter how many on the road, this white will always have the wow look. LOL. Somesaid its so difficult to take care of the white, easily get dirt. But i take it positively, Like i said before if u own white u will love it more than u love ur wife. Coz u will def take care this car day and night, wash x2/week and with tribos, wash only with water la. Soo easy. When a car is new, ask u wash everyday also u will la. But later once the euphoria of a new car has worn off, the LYN posts will become less and less, the washing frequency drops and then the reality of maintaining a white car hits. Btw, water is also an enemy of car coatings. If u use the normal soft cloth that you buy for RM30, ure gonna lose that coating in a few months. Go to the car detailing threads and learn how to maintain the coating. Thats why sometimes i think its not worth doing a coating if you dont know how to maintain it. Cheaper to polish once a year and wax every 6 mths. This post has been edited by cybermaster98: Mar 22 2013, 04:17 PM |

Saw a red Mazda 6 at Simpang Pulai last Friday. Looks good and commanding on the road. I think for this M6 design, a dark color suits better compared to silver or white.

QUOTE(calvin_gsc @ Mar 24 2013, 06:26 PM) Had 5 adult passengers and a full boot load. It wasn't as comfy as I expect/wanted it to be. No thanks to 19" tyres and noisy Bridgestone Turanza T001. Some more recommended tyre pressure for car with full load was front 36PSI rear 46 PSI. I went with the recommended tyre pressure. Bad decision. I drove light footed with highest rpm under 4k. 8.0L/100km average onboard tripmeter. I need to do my 1000km service sometime next week. Not sure about Bridgestone tyres but since your tyres are new, u can possibly still trade in for Goodyear Assy 2 or Michelin PSS. |
