actually all depends on the pricing of the ZL model. if the price different is big compare to Z, i will definitely go for ZL. i believe there r few members here also waiting for ZL.

reason? :

1. i dun like glass back of the Z.
2. i dun need water proof and dust proof, will happily exclude it for cheaper price.
3. dun like the covers on all the ports, annoying to me.
4. physical camera button always useful.
5. smaller size, but not so significant, only smaller by a bit.

unless sony is going to Premium the Z model like iphone strategy, if not, more variant of model will attract more customer and sell more unit, ideally.

All LCD was TFT, just S-LCD was an evolution of TN based TFT-LCD.

Sony never mention using which type of TFT-LCD. But from review, it was not really yet comparable with any manufacturer use.

I haven't seen yet XPERIA Z screen, but from current XPERIA V, in normal general look, it never better than current HTC Butterfly which base on S-LCD as well. My eye was popping out when I first seen the Butterfly but not any XPERIA phone in market.

Sony every year did same mistake, the way it announcing it phone base on spec was in wrong timing.

I am pretty sure the wow effect of XPERIA Z will not as stunning sales at it suppose due to it again's wrong timing.

But for obvious marketing reason, octa is a better name. Same case wher current led tv isnt a led tv at all, only a backlit led lcd tv. But this infos only people like us knows, but for mass market n general people, they only buy anythg without knowing ir care.

Htc one iinm marketed their phone at 4mp, that is a risky move eventho the reality it was a 12-13mp camera. Iinm a 4mpX3

No offense, i'll speak in general, sometime i hate people whining about the phone is late into the market, then once the phone hit the market, those who were whining still dun buy the phone, gave various of reasons like the phone is too expensive, or a newer phone with better spec will come up, or gona to wait for "insert brand" phone to released an so on.

My point is, if u decide to buy watever phone u want, be prepared, save money n but as soon as u able to afford it. Dun play the waiting game. It will be never ending wait. Technology always move very fast.

If Xperia Z and HTC one comes at the same price of 2299,then Xperia Z have another thing to lose out..

Highly likely will not be able to slide into the dock if you have a case on it.

i think it was cheap for Singaporean, say if their executive basic salary is 2.5k sing dollar, the phone is still less than 1k. but here for us, if the price is rm2299, salary rm2.5k, remaining balance only rm200

Ohh..and before you flame me further..let me tell you that i never bad mouth Xperia Z phone or any other phone. All phone have its good and bad..pro and cons.

Ya, what ever seen from own eye is the most accurate, that the reason I never pre-order anything.

Mobile Phone was not something limited edition where you can't get after finish sold. I don't see the point for pre-order unless you want to be the superb 1st hand user getting it. Then different story.

Yup,I'm willing to pay RM1750 for nexus 4 due to the specs and everything,nexus 7 i pay RM950 16GB in early days,now can easily get RM600,but i still have no regret

Ya, same as my Nexus 10 32GB, I paid SGP $680 = RM 1,715.00 but I no regret, I know actual price was only USD $499 = RM 1,560. But ok la, no choice and I no regret till now.

Samsung is indeed the king of android devices at the moment, we all know that and they've come up with some very good devices. But having one company monopolise market share is always a bad thing, which is why companies like HTC, Sony, etc have to step up and provide phones that can compete against Samsung. Healthy competition benefits the consumers, and Google too!

True, plus I believe that we're going to hit a wall real soon in regards to processors in our smartphones. At least till they can come up with improved battery technology. Battery technology hasn't changed much in many years and it doesn't scale at all with processor technology. Too powerful processor also no use, you'll find yourself constantly recharging the phone. Soon we'll be up to 2 hour screen time with each phone

I don't like the Nexus 4. Just not a fan of the design. Not a fan of the S3s either. The XZ has been the phone that has wow'ed me and grabbed my attention.
