I'm waiting someone to release their unit so I can cash-in in ASM. Lol

I still have long way to go before retirement, a lot uncertainty, not dare to put in EPF

Top up contribution monthly in small amount only to EPF
*
epf interest is higher and more stable.... the compounding effect is faster than asmX....
this month onwards i am withdrawing and maximising epf.

am thinking one step deeper... lol...

primary motivation to lock some funds into epf... is protection against scammers... bad investments advice... etc etc... this way we can gg happy knowing their retirement is secured... biggrin.gif

reason we didn't go the property route... notwithstanding above... too much hassle imho... they still have our cash and home... lol

am also in the midst of setting up a trading bot... hopefully this will be my legacy... free money for life... hahaha... anyways still early days...
*
i agree with you.
property route is over in my opinion..was in since 2003 ... right until 2015.... and no more now

price mainly stagnant until today or with very little appreciation. even i bought one for stay in 2017 and now value still the same...

all into epf or any stable safe investment....

What percentage of the world's adult population are millionaires? 1.1% of the world's adult population are millionaires. This adds up to about 56 million people. Collectively, this group has about $191.6 trillion and controls about 46% of the world's wealth.24 Feb 2023

RM 5m is something.

if this sum in EPF it earns RM300k per year.
*
as to refer with the previous post, rm5m is something only in Msia. Sad.... We r stuck here. Somehow i will prefer kids to be here if we were to pass them our $$$$.... If they were to go elsewhere eg spore, our hard earn money will be gone just like that...,....

To be able to invest in SG properties does not mean you are rich. T20 is not rich. t1 is rich.
To have MYR 5mil means nothing in the context of investing in SG properties. It's a measly SGD 1.44 mil.  biggrin.gif

really feeling depressed reading this even that i am aware of this.....i am sure most of us are, especially those with kids.....

Never mind others. RM5mil is no chicken feed either. It's very comfy to live here with RM5mil. All in context.
*
true but the kids might want to go elsewhere ...,.and we want to be with them

Dunno for EPF case is called daily or monthly.....

but i can confirm for EPF case, u pump in 100k lum sum will nett you more interest then u contribute it every month, because for each month additional contribution example 1st of the month, you only get 1 day of interest, instead for whole month interest.
*
so epf calculates interest daily?

so i can top up anytime in the month and it will calculate interest on the day i top up the xtra amount?

35 years old this year and house loan got 30 years old.. Lama lagi lol.. I can sustain the mortgage no problem. Just wonder if reducing house loan or continue keep in EPF will be more beneficial.
Because EPF rate is still better?
*
keep in epf better la. return rate higher compared to paying bank loan interest. my loans all on maximum. extra cash i still dump into epf

I put 3% and assuming I retired at 55 years old...I am 35 years old this year so 20 years more to go. Assuming after I retired, I need to have money until age 80...so the retirement money need to last 25 years.

Not sure how much stuff will cost that time...I wonder if 7k monthly is enough or not also assuming no debts sweat.gif
*
need min rm30k pm after retirement in 25 yrs

100% no
When you grow old you won't even know how to use a phone
EPF gives u money but money won't bring back your cognitive skill
When your cognitive skill is gone it cant come back
Some sickness like Alzheimer, Parkinson and Dementia it will only get worst overtime - you won't progress you only will regress - slowly losing all memory
No medicine will cure it

Not trying to scare you guys here but I have been through this with my dad and I am so happy that he return to his creator

Having enough money will only buy you comfort and you need that in your old days

So go big with your goals for me is 2.5M and I am working really hard to meet that goal

As long as epf dont disappoint us with less than 5% I should be able to hit it when I am 60yo
*
i now fear of getting old after reading this

EPF = retirement funds or investment tools . depends how you look at it. (for me, I dunno what will happen tomorrow. dunno got chance to enjoy the epf or not)

if you put it as a fund for your kids as tertiary education, it's an investment too.
if you spend Rm 200k + and after they graduate, they work in Singapore for SGD 3.5k basic pay, (Around RM 10k)  , the money you spend break even after 2+ years after they work.
*
200k enough? see ppl all spending min 1 mil per kid
