QUOTE(fuzzy @ Dec 17 2024, 05:59 PM) Is okay, if you don't let EPF do their job, you end up paying the rakyats frivolous spending and last last you also need to fund their future retirement. Depending on how you look at it, this has already been happening indirectly for a while now, just recent more direct guidance to buy bursa. Next time can also say national security to save the nation. Not saying it is good or bad. I think the way we are going, maybe it is better to consider it the cost to maintain the status quo. |

QUOTE(virtualgay @ Jul 8 2025, 12:29 PM) it is not the same plan.. So recommended to get both the medical card and critical illness plan for max coverage? Means total coverage is up to 150k for medical card + 200k critical illness?i-lindung dont have medical card it only cover like critical illness, TPD and PA saja price wise i-lindung is cheaper by a bit only, i bought RM200k coverage for critical illness this year before my full medical check up |

QUOTE(justanovice @ Jul 13 2025, 11:35 AM) Age plays a big reason in responses. same concern with young ppl around the world. they need to pay into a system that may or may be there when they need it. I believe those > 50 will have lesser worries on any restriction as it will take a few years to implement any sort of big changes.. do share if anyone < 50 who have zero concern on policy changes that affects withdrawal rules. feels bad when those >50 knowingly dismiss concerns and continue die2 ask ppl to all in. like they want to ensure there is enough fund to cover their withdrawal of millions cash when the time come. QUOTE(Wedchar2912 @ Aug 2 2025, 06:03 PM) haha... so the earlier announcement was really to test water... purposely vague and lacking in details. when ppl think of pension they think gahmen pencen with perpetual tax free income from retirement at 55 until death 20-30 yes later and then pay to spouse and kids. funnily, this para in the article: "She also said that under the proposal, EPF savings would be split into two sections: flexible savings, which can be withdrawn anytime, and income savings, which would be paid out periodically until fully utilised" income savings, which will be paid out periodically until fully utilised Does this sound like the definition of pension? But now they frame EPF as pension when it is own money. Then some more only paid out until balance is 0... Not in perpetuity.. To do like since so soon after increase to 1.3m is not a good sign. Instead if they want more ppl to deposit they should increase tax relief from 7k to same like 100k deposit limit. But also cannot because then not enough income tax revenue. So the only thing to do is to raise limit to stop ppl from withdraw so soon and use those funds for investment and to plug gaps. Wedchar2912 liked this post

QUOTE(MUM @ Aug 3 2025, 01:22 PM) This is why confidence is shaken. Big institution and departments, yet suka2 release vague statements. People question for sure. Then suka2 only later on say won't affect current members and then expect like nothing happen back to usual. People with all the resources and iron ricebowl to focus only on manage people's money that they must put into by law also like playing broken telephone. Also same with 1.3m limit. Is like all also unsure. One side say a bit here, then another side come out say a bit there, then another department say something else. |

Any plans by lhdh to increase tax relief for voluntary contribution? Current 4k + 3k only. Should allow up to 100k pa limit. Sure will increase contributions.
