5.45% exceeded my expectations. Was expecting less as 2019 is indeed a tough year.

No clue, anything extra is a bonus.
Expect the worse and be pleasantly surprised if we get high 5s or even 6πŸ˜…

Anything above 5 would be good enough for me tongue.gif

Why cant EPF fix an announcement date for every year ?

The suspense in February is beyond words...
*
February is suspense for me too. Epf and company bonus announcement all at the same month.

Maybank stock I can think about...

Dividend given not bad...

I have been invested in Maybank for many years now. Their dividend return is really good + gains from stock price.

Not just 50s even 40s already difficult which is why this scheme targetted to buy with the requirement of salary slip πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ
*
True we are unlike Singapore where there is a govt backed scheme to hire elderly. Maybe the govt should explore this too.

Why policy takeaway is not Chinese have the most and bumiputeras the least EPF savings and income

Many govt servants that opt for pencen won't have epf savings. I wonder if that data took that into account.

EPF’s domestic investments set to hit RM700bil by year end

Ahmad Maslan says for 2023, EPF has allocated RM97 billion, or 83% of its annual allocated funds, for the domestic market  whistling.gif

From 2022 until 2024, EPF’s investments were divided into five classes, with 45.5% going into fixed-income instruments, followed by listed equities (42.5%), real assets (6.0%), private equities (3.0%) and money market instruments (3.0%).

Tak faham macam mana boleh contribute 100k per year
I think the increments of self contribution rate to 100k only benefited t20
Those m40 and B40 totally see no benefits of this initiative by Gov

Any reason why gov previously want to increase it to 100k? Any benefits to gov?
*
My layman guess would be - more money in EPF means more money for the govt to invest. Be it domestically or overseas. And this will stimulate economic growth.

The forecast just gets lower and lower. From 6.xx% to now 5.6% with a caveat 'up to'. Looks like its not going to be good.

EPF should make account 3 as an opt-in option

making member to do manual transfer is just such waste of time.
*
Yes agree I would not want to have the account 3 as well.

I think they will need to at least give a token rate at least comparable to prevailing FD promo rate, otherwise soon enough everyone will realize it is best to cash out all the money and account 3 might as well be cancelled and always auto credit into member's bank account.
*
Or they can allow people to transfer all back into Acc 1 or 2. Or just offer the option to opt out from Acc 3 completely.

If we have neither of these options, people would just rather withdraw the money if the dividend rate is not the same as Acc 1 and Acc 2, and park it somewhere else even though they would rather keep it in EPF.

can I use EPF to pay the current month housing loan ? is there any limit to the number of unit ? and if the interest goes up, will the epf adjust accordingly or need to instruct EPF again.
*
If interest goes up your monthly repayment amount will remain the same I think.
