Has negative dividend restructuring for the >1M or >500K bracket implemented?

I am exploring returning $1M I withdrew for investment 5 years ago. AS I am age 70, do not want to invest in any risky ventures. I am aware $60K is the limit.

What other low risk investments are available to senior citizens other than FDs? At the moment FD returns are poor!

Seeking advise from experts here.

I withdrew RM1Mil form my EPF 5 years ago for investment. Jan 2021 investment tenure will expire & money will be returned to me. As I am age 70, do not want any risky investments.

How can I replace the RM1Mil to EPF? I understand contributions are limited to $60K per year.

i am sure alot of aunties and uncles out there would like to know or hope that it could happens....then they does not need to hunt for "Best" FD rates anymore

Well looks like no one has got an answer for this. Only avenue left is from the horses mouth. I'll make an appointment with KWSP officer on this matter.

Last resort is FD and stretch it as long as possible! I believe FD interest will improve soon, especially since covid vaccine is on the table.

thumbsup.gif yes, then tell us the reply from KWSP.... notworthy.gif

in the meantime...just don't over stretch your money in FD (as long as possible!) ...for yearly can still deposit 60k (it just takes you 15 +yrs)

Yes for the moment, I intend to deposit 60K annually into EPF, balance on a 6 month FD.

yes,...
just don't forget "nomination" with the your money in KWSP.

btw, you posted earlier,.... "As I am age 70, do not want any risky investments."
mind telling this "risky" means, ......chances of losing how many % of your capital in a year or no lose allowed?
*
Right, am 70 and have no other income. Rely solely on this little nest i've built. Do not rely or want to rely on the children.

With that outlook,I'm looking at no lost at all.

Maybe can consider some investment-grade bank bonds too,...

Secondly,... BNM may lower the OPR again in January,.. so, if you are aiming for bank FDs, perhaps can expedite your research and enter asap before the FD rates are lowered further.

As covid vaccines will soon be available, I feel business will startup again. This means money will be needed to kick start the economy. Interest rates will rise with demand,IMO.
