KWSP Isytihar Dividen 6.40 Peratus Untuk 2015

The EPF website has a new layout for the statement. I find it to be confusing and not user friendly as it does not show the month total for the accounts. The old layout is very clean and organized. I have sent them a feedback. Anyone know if there is a way to revert back to the old layout?

Thanks. I did that too but it just doesn't show the total sum for each month in a clear cut way. Guess will just have to create a spreadsheet and manually input the figures.

I don't understand what you mean. From my side I can view every single detail. It shows me the consolidated summary for my Account 1 and Account 2 in a simple view, and then it shows the breakdown of contribution by month just as before. Every information is clearly stated in the new layout so I don't understand what is the fuss on the new layout is all about.
*
It lacks the total accumulated amount after each month. Also, only the month of caruman now, not the exact date.

Take a look at the image attached to my previous reply.

1. Jumlah (cumulative total) for both Account 1/2 and also Jumlah for total contribution are stated.

2. Take a look at my monthly caruman, the exact dates for each contribution are also clearly shown.

Edit:
I added another photo here with the highlights just in case you missed the previous photo.
My bad on the dates smile.gif Thanks.

What I meant for the cumulative total is for each month, not only for the current month.

Late to the party and saw this discussion going on. Did the survey and oppose the proposed tiering system. I got a feeling it going to be bulldozed into effect anyway and the survey is just a PR exercise. If it comes into effect, I hope there will be a way for people to slip under the tier with the higher dividend. And perhaps it is a good time to halt self-contribution at the moment.

On a separate topic of cash value, if someone has the total savings including non-active contributors ... otherwise based on the same 2018 picture, how much dent assuming a certain savings range decides to withdraw all out of EPF (as per RM500 x 12) or whatever, for simplicity sake, let's say every single one of them are able to withdraw everything !!!

Total 2018 savings = RM 612,374,018,597 i.e. 612 billion

0-5k savings = 1.01% of total savings = RM 2,525,873,976 i.e. 2.5 billion only, not even making a dent
0-50k = 11.82% = RM 72,404,550,698 i.e. 72.4 billion only
0-100k = 26.96% = RM 165,079,861,913 i.e. 165 billion

Bear in mind of the assumptions above that every single one is able to withdraw everything. If we reduce it to max 6k per person, using the earlier post individual count, and lumping the rest of non-active contributors (2.1M) into the 5001-6000 savings range,

0-5k savings = same as above RM  2,525,873,976 for 5.96M people
0-50k = 21,202,779,168 i.e. 21.20 billion for 11.18M people !
0-100k = 28,939,149,168 i.e. 28.94 billion 12.47M people !!! EPF only has 14.19M contributors (both active and non)

as compared to 2018 total of RM612 billion. A very amateur layman EPF contributor estimate from me, it will not even dent EPF funds. Which I doubt when some mention earlier EPF will be in trouble, need to sell holdings/bonds, etc. for the 12x RM500 monthly withdrawals.
icon_rolleyes.gif
Bonus calculation: if every single person perform an eligible 6k withdrawal (for each range max limit, without 70:30 ratio) the total withdrawal is 39,240,339,168 i.e. RM39.2 billion only. Assumption is the remaining 2.1M non-active contributors are at the lowest 5001-6000 range.
*
Good job. That is a good analysis. Clear to a layman like me.

This ought to lead to an even more skewered EPF where you will see larger differences in holdings between M40 and B40. Looking at the survey, it might likely lead to even more efforts to introduce a tiered dividend system with higher % for lower amounts. Sad reality.
*
I agree. This seems to be a prelude to the tier-based system.

I am against the tier system. People that didn't touch account 2 will be handed a bad deal, just because they are being prudent with their future.

Nothing unfair... just like how banks are giving lesser interest or no interest if our savings account is not more than the minimal amount.

Depositors in have a choice whether they want to park their money in that type of savings account or not. They can go to other banks. But there is no choice for EPF.

Let's not forget that money from self-contribution goes into both account 1 and 2 too. Also, from how I view it, it will be double 'taxation' for the EPF portion of our salary if tier-based system is implemented for EPF too.

Previously I would just leave it at 11% but now am considering to let it be lowered to 9%. Not because I have other investment vehicle or need the extra money but the current talks surrounding EPF creates a lot of ambiguity of what is the future direction. The withdrawal announced in budget, the talks about a tiered system and even a hint about extending the retirement age. Kinda made me regret with self contribution too.

I have invest 3k for PRS mainly due to tax relief and thinking to put 4k for self contribution but i see this thread has less discussion on self contribution 4k to EPF for tax relief.

Is this not a popular choice ?
