I benchmarked my UT investment (EPF ) for the past 3 years against the EPF. The UT actually lost.

QUOTE(aspartame @ Sep 20 2019, 09:26 AM) Sorry but I cannot understand your logic here...how is it that your money in EPF is paying a tax? Your 24% tax paid is on your income right? The epf 11% contribution is taxed before going into epf assuming after 6k contribution. This post has been edited by Drian: Sep 20 2019, 11:54 AM |

QUOTE(aspartame @ Sep 20 2019, 11:59 AM) The money going into EPF is taxed once at 24% before going into EPF account. That was the point. I don’t think he meant EPF income generated from epf dividend being taxed. This post has been edited by Drian: Sep 20 2019, 12:05 PM |

QUOTE(beLIEve @ Sep 20 2019, 02:44 AM) If a person enters the market at the right time, it's possible. 15% p.a. is like 1.25% a month. Look at US market also easily fluctuate 3% when uncle donald tweets. Yes it's possible, the problem is that it is not all the time. That's the problem. Need to take into account down period as well. But anyway, my point is, s/he can offer any %. Whether s/he can deliver or not, or run run run run runaway with people's money is a different story. And it's investors that bear the risks. I got 20% from my globaltech unitrust but that's only for 2017 . Couldn't achieve the same thing for 2018, 2019. |

If they declare 5%, it's pretty bad considering no recession in the world and China /US is still doing well in their equity. It will show that it is a Malaysia problem , not world economy problem.
