The one that will be affected the hardest by the tiering are not these so called epf millionaires. Rather, those near the 500k mark. Cindy is just using the millionaires to tell her story and justify her agenda.

It is certainly weird that there is not so much noise with ASB tiered dividend but when EPF wanted to do the same, it seems like the world is ending to some.  Still have another approximately 6 years or so to get to 1 million assumung my salary is stagnant.

I still support tiered dividend but only to people who havent reach minimum saving by age and active contributor.
*
Why a silly comparison. Can anyone withdraw EPF at will? innocent.gif

Is withdrawing the only way to reduce the amount in epf? One cant reduce the amount by epf mis? Although technically it is still inside epf, but it is not part of dividend calculation
*
Nothing related to the comparison with ASB that you made.

Owh really, please enlighten me then? Are you implying it is ok to redistribute dividend this way in asb and not in epf. Or is it about ASB for bumi and EPF is all Malaysian. Or is it about asb being an optional secure investment for bumi and epf being mandatory.

Remember they are trying to imply that 1 million is the cutoff, but we all know these guys can withdraw all the amount that exceeded 1 million. Even if the cutoff is 500k, still wont matter since as i mentioned there are other way to withdraw some amount to reduce the impact or invest using MIS.
*
What a forked tongue and trying to change this into a racial debate. Do it one more time and I will report your for racial provocation. People who invest in ASB have the option to withdraw if they are not happy with the tiering, while those in EPF do not have such option. And yet you are bewildered when many are against this EPF tiering. No one is stopping you to make the same noise too.

Well, before you start bashing me, I want you to do one thing - Pretend this is not EPF for a moment, it's a pension fund in another country with similar income disparity and aging population. Pretend you are running that pension fund, or running that country. What is best for the country, not what is best for an individual depositor.
Before people start bashing you, I want you to do one thing - Pretend this is not EPF for a moment, it's a piggy bank in another country with similar income disparity and voting population. Pretend you are running for the presidency. What is best for your votes, not what is best for the country.

Well said, summarised the problem of Malaysia in 1 single sentence. It's really not about the greater good of EVERYONE, but what is GOOD for ME

That mindset, have sent Malaysia to the trash and will keep us there for years to come
*
The ME here refers to the politician who is championing this tiering dividend aka Cindy puppet's master rolleyes.gif

On another note, it is heartening to see there are 'big hearted' members like Cindy and her sympathizers around. Perhaps EPF can facilitate them to opt in and allow them to set the percentage that they want to redistribute to other members. I mean why not, I want to leech off their generosity.

My dislike for Cindy Yeap tend to be higher around this time of the year because I stop self contribution after her tiering proposal.

wahhh seems like she's been stirring shits since 2020. I think she just make herself outstanding. After all the i-withdrawals, she wants others to fill back the hole. Govt will be grateful to her, probably make her a senator.

I personally know someone in heavy debts who opted not to work anymore at his late 40s thanks to all the i-withdrawals.
*
Yeah and it coincided with the downward FD rate trend. Else could still move some FD to EPF.

EPF profit sharing not implemented yet right? What stopped you from moving FD to EPF?

Don't want to continue raising the amount to suddenly enter a bracket that gets lower dividend and cannot get it out back.

If looking at FD only like no brainer to me... EPF guarantees 2.5% and FD rates now like bleh...

That is what all this uncertainties are creating. The what-ifs. Imagine someone who self-contributed 60k within this 5 years, that's 300k. This will easily put him at the higher bracket, lower dividend forever. And he will regret and curse Cindy even more haha.

It matters cause govt toying with idea of tier dividend. The more you have the lesser you get and the lesser you have the more % you get.

Whether it will come true another is another thing. For now it's just in discussion mode.

For me personally I feel it's a good idea. So people cannot exploit it.
*
Tiering WILL exploit many people who has been saving and not touching his EPF account

whats the fuss about the tiered dividend? whatever amount in excess of RM1miilion is allowed to be withdrawn anytime, so please invest yourself elsewhere and get better return for yourself. instead of keep on harping on lousy govn policies yet you are still dependent on epf/govn dividend.

and who are you to tell us what to do with our money? Ah, just registered today.. one of cindy yeap sympathiser
