Manav : A lot of us are playing with it without any problems. I feel sorry for you for having problems, many things could be causing your failures and it sucks that the 360 doesn't have official support. If you think you have it bad you need to talk to Judge-The who had a corrupted profile and lost his save game info if I'm not mistaken.

Or String, who's US 360's HDD (HDD only right?) also konked out and still we toll on to have the time of our lives on Live. Tell Imbi Mario there's a problem with the unit if nothing works and see how they settle lar.

wow. these horror stories about the xbox360 crashing/freezing really make me kinda....scared. like Manav, this is like the dream system for me...

roughly, how many of the LYN forumers who already own an xbox360 have had serious problems?

really sucks to have the greatest feeling of buying your dream system, only to have a faulty one at the end. damn.

Since we import from singapore (for asian console), does the warranty apply? how does it work between shops here and the source in sg?

But yeah guys so much promise but just wasnt meant to be I guess.

I did play Blazing angels for 25 min this morning, it was a very pretty game. cry.gif

Alas not to be.....

Dude don't be so dramatic tongue.gif . The percentage of faulty console is in the low single digit only which is well within the acceptable rate of any commercial product biggrin.gif

manav... i feel your pain... but as a precaution...just make sure the 360 or the psu is not sitting on a carpet or any other dusty area... please also make sure that the vents are not obstructed in any way... try this and see if it works...

Manav..just try some of the solutions offered by this guys first. Have u go online yet, maybe there's an update for the console. Dont took it as a lost. Connie called and she wants u to bring it today...told her that your problem is common but probably seems u're actually the worst, and maybe u try to resolved it yourself today...and if the problem persist, to bring it back to the shop by tomorrow.

Yeah I'll try this stuff tonight, and will let you guys kno how it went on Monday. Will prob be goin to IMBI Mario if it fails tonight. At the moment, I ve gone through enough websites to have a 2nd thought on should I proceed or not. Some people are on their fourth xbox 360, its quite scary. Anyway hopefully MS will make a reliable system in the future.

Once again I must point out that Im fairly unlucky so dont need to get dishearted cause of my bad experience. You guys have a nice time lah... sad.gif

manav:

The power supply has several built-in safeguards to help prevent damage to either the console or to the power supply itself. The power supply can turn itself off in conditions of too much current, too-high voltage, or too-high temperature. Under these conditions, the light on the power supply will turn from green to orange or to red, or the light will turn off. When the power supply light is green, the power supply is functioning correctly.
. Follow these safeguards to help the power supply work:
. Do not block any ventilation openings in the power supply.
. Do not put the power supply on a bed, on a sofa, or on any other soft surface that may block ventilation openings.
. Do not put the power supply in a confined space, such as a bookcase, a rack, or a stereo cabinet, unless the space is well ventilated.
. Do not put the power supply near any heat source, such as a radiator, a heat register, a stove, or an amplifier.

It is the March update your 360 is missing. Remember, you are playing a game released, AFTER MArch update, which is your GRAW and Blazing Angels, these games works flawlessly after the update. Grab the update first and then see what happens.

It is highly unlikely that your 360 is heating up or HDD messing up. An overheating 360 would just simply shuts down, at either the console or the power brick (red light at the brick). HDD crashing would incur the 3 Rings of Light with Error Code Exx. The other suspect would be your internet connection. Are they wired or wireless? I had occasions where i was taxing the line at home with moving stuff back and forth through the same line and the 360 just simply refuses to register any of my button presses.

IMO, it would either be your 360 is not updated, or the your internet line connection. I once suspected power surges/fluctuations to be the culprit to my HDD woes (im running everything , the DLP TV, the home theatre setup, 3 gaming rigs, and with my other consoles through very few power outlet, and im getting spikes on the AVR/UPS LCD readout), that was not EXCLUSIVELY the problem....

since you didnt go online then i would suggest you must go online immediately and get the 360 updated. well if you need a place for update your 360 you can drop by my place here and use my streamyx to do the updates. the only thing is you need to drive all the way to bangi. let me know.

There's your culprit. The games released AFTER the MARCH update will require you to download these via Live update before they play flawlessly on your 360. Having an internet line is a prerequisite for a 360, not just for online sake, but to download updates to run the latest games.

Yeap...probably! Do u have the same problem when u're playing Kameo! Connie told me that u've finished the game...and if u dont have the same problem, probably u need an update...she just told me that when she tested Blazing Angels for a client..it prompt for an update.

Hmm....read somewhere that xbox 360 needs a clean power supply, so make sure u do the direct connection to your main plug, or if u r using the AVR, get the barnded one. So far, my 360 working ok without hang except twice, during FNR3 online with jaylike after finishing the match.
