My new replacement card is supposed to arrive tomorrow. Let's see if it's the old or new one. I'm hoping for the new one

I told the CS the EMV chip on my card is no longer in good condition and sometimes the credit card machine can't read my card. I forgot to ask if i have to pay for the new card though

You never read the newspaper all this while ? It's not really a new policy as this policy has been in effect for 2 years already.

Nevermind lah. I think i'll wait till i get the card tomorrow. If they bill me a card replacement fee, i'll give them a call to waive it. Shouldn't be a problem since i've been a very good customer

No problem. Fingers crossed. But if it is still the old design, then it's not exactly a bad thing either considering OCBC is phasing out this card design.


When did you request for it ?

I received my new replacement card just this evening and it is the same old design card. But the credit card number is different. CVV not surprisingly, is different too Is this normal ? Last time i requested for new cards for my credit cards from other banks, and the credit card numbers are all the same.

A new practice perhaps ? I had requested for card replacement from HSBC due to change of signature about 3 years ago and the credit card number is the same.


No. She didn't. She only said my card will be blocked until i receive my new card. And when i requested for a replacement card for my Citibank VISA last year, the card number remains the same too.

It is the other way around for me. I login to my OCBC online just now and i was surprised to see the replacement credit card that i received two days ago is now listed as my principal credit card, while my old deactivated credit card is now listed as my supplementary credit card

Through M2U. I add my OCBC TMC as "other card" and i always choose that whenever i pay my Jabatan Air Sabah bill.

Anyway, i used to go to the JAS branch you mentioned to pay my bill too and from what remember, i did get 5%. May be you should ring OCBC up to check what's the MCC code ?

cempedaklife wasn't confused. It was previously reported here purchases made at one or two Carrefour outlets were given 1% cash back instead of the expected 5%. While the name is now AEON-Big, it may still uses the same MCC prior to the name change.

I can confirm this. I am paying my Maxis bill via OCBC Online every month and i always get 5% cash back for it.
