My device recently freeze like crazy. Thinking of flashing [ROM][XWLSD][14Feb] Omega v20 ●►Final JB 4.1.2.
Last mth tried flashing Aliiance got serious bootloop & cannot boot.
This time thinking to flash Kernel Cleaning Script. This Omega Rom default PhilZ cwm6 good? Any bootloop? Or shud i flash Jeboo Kernel 2.1 that claim to be no bootloop. Sked la after bad experience with bootloop. Thx
*
wah your s2 so much problem one...
usually those bootloop sod problem because kernel too 'advance' and have too many tweaks.
use stock kernel then wont have any issue

i use alliance rom and jeebo 1.1f (last version before it started to have tweaks)

jeebo is stock kernel without tweaks.
newer jeebo versions add more features causing random reboots and other weird stuff.

been using my phone without worry and fuss for so long now.
0 case of sod, random reboot & hang. icon_rolleyes.gif

Prangin mall? aiyyo, i just got back from Penang last Friday. How long it takes to repair it? hope that only my chip burnt, not leaking any on the mobo huhuhu

It would be a big help if you can give me the name of the shop too, thanks!
*
Sorry cannot help with the name as it is a kedai like stall you see everywhere in shopping malls throughout Malaysia. I am sure you can ask any of them, wherever you are, to change your wifi chip since you already know the problem. Should be a simple procedure for these enterprising fellows. This place I went to was at ground floor 3 or 4 shops away from the Samsung Centre in Prangin Mall. Good luck.

It took 3 days without me chasing them. I believe they can do it straight away if they have the spare wifi chip in stock. You know these shops, always working on something as their soldering irons are always on hot. But then if done immediately, will not justify for high price. A simple job must be made to look difficult.

Can someone point to me where I can get higher capacity battery but of the same physical size as the original battery? I don't mind paying more for a quality one.

I really respect the people here. At V39, there must be hundreds of questions asking about rooting and flashing. But you all still answering it.

I read most concern is about backing up. Which makes me wonder, what actually that you are afraid to loose? To me I only care about contact, sms and photo which are all can be managed. Am I missing anything else that should be backed up?

if you think it's not worth backing up then that's fine. i backup everything, apps data (game savefiles chatlogs etc) and also nandroids just in case.

different people have different needs afterall.

no bro, battery capacity depends on its thickness. our battery technology is not that advance yet. so if want higher capacity, need to get thicker one

people that mostly do backups are the ones that flash a lot. its not actually worrying about suddenly loosing everything, its more to convenience. you never know what could happen during/after a flash. easier to have backups if anything goes wrong and easier to restore back data to freshly installed rom.

I care about all my settings, apps and data. its would be such a hassle to set it all back after a flash and without backups there's no way you can get back your missing data.
