depends on the updates, bug fixes and battery life improvement is important, but i doubt not everyone would be a tech person who checks for updates now and then however battery is otherwise, im sure that everyone prefer a phone that can at least last a full day (16 hours) of 'medium' usage.

well, depends on the user, but i would prefer to calculate based on the on-screen time. you wont be using the phone for a straight 16 hours right ?
yup, TBH, i never turn on the power saving mode after finding out it kills the performance of the phone. ( very noticeable lags )
