Well yeah Crystal Quest is easy achievements. Easiest out of all the Live Arcade games available. So I thought I might was well play and get all the achievements along the way

Guys, thinking of getting an Xbox 360 soon.

I'm currently staying at my campus' hostel and the connection isn't so good, so I'll probably stick on Silver membership and only upgrade to Gold during Semester break where I'll have decent broadband connection at home. I have a few questions about Xbox Live:

1. Is game patch download neccesary (if the game have one in the first place) if I just want to connect to Live so I can update my Gamerscore & Acheivement?

2. If the patch download a must, is it usually large in size?

3. Is there any difference between Silver and Gold's marketplace? I read from Xbox's website that Gold member have "Exclusive Xbox Live Marketplace downloads and content". Is the "exclusive" content so special that will make me want to go to Gold?

So even if I didn't play the game online multiplayer, still have to download the patch? I just want to connect to live to update Gamerscore & Achievement. If must download then die la with the connection at the hostel here. +_+

I just read about this at Gamefaqs. Apparently, Gold members get to access
to new stuff earlier in the marketplace compared to Silver members.

1. Game patches are optional most of the time. So let's say you sign onto your Silver account, boot up GRAW fresh from the case (haven't played yet at all), when the game boots it will say something like "A new update is available for this game" and you have the option to either "Update Now" or "Update Later". I would recommend you download all game patches

2. Not really. Most updates take around 5 - 10 minutes max. Well at least for me. I run on 512kbps. Usually 5 minutes is all you need So far I've noticed that the Dashboard update takes the most time to download. Maybe I was just unlucky that day but even then it only took 10 minutes

3. Not much that I've noticed. Probably Gold get stuff a bit earlier so yeah

mzaidi, you have been missing for such a long time... I thought you promised us to have a xbox live account before?

Yah, I know. My Xbox went haywire due to crazy modding I did; so no Xbox Live. I'm going to get 360 now.

1. YES, game patches ARE necessary. Usually if you choose to update later like Mobi mentioned you will be disconnected from the Live network, no Live network no upload.

2. Patches vary in sizes obviously, but most of the time they seem to be quite manageable.

3. For marketplace content the only time I noticed difference in content was during E3 where some content was exclusive to Gold members only. This exclusivity is NOT IMHO the reason you'd want to get Gold membership, unless you REALLY REALLY want a trailer lar.

Eh, do we need to be gold member to use MS Points? I read at IGN that in Xbox Live Arcade, Silver Member can only download demo of Live Arcade game, and only Gold Member can purchase full version.

Does this means Silver Member can't use MS Points?

Silver Members can use MS Points. Don't know about the Arcade Game thing though. I've never tried buying an Arcade Game with my Silver Account
