Peter Moore announced full version of TV and movies coming to the marketplace

source: MajorNelson.com
watch the demo video: xbox.com

*edit:

in the demo video, the guy bought an episode of CSI:NY for 240ms point. the 480p version is 556mb and the 720p is 2.0gb.

they also showed movie rental, Batman Forever for 320ms points. 480p is 1.3gb and 720p is 5.4gb rclxub.gif now what we need is a bigger hard drive.

and the movie rental has DRM enforced, must watch within 14 days of purchase and 24hrs to complete once u started watching.

QUOTE(mzaidi @ Nov 7 2006, 10:53 AM)
* Just noticed that they mentioned the word "rent" in the montage. This means that you have 14 days to view them after you downloaded them, and once you played the video, it'll expire within 24 hours.
*
with the kind of broadband we have here, i think it'll take more than 14 days for me to download that 5.4gb version of Batman Forever tongue.gif

they only mentioned rental on the movies, but do u think the same would be applied to TV shows? i hope not. too bad no ABC, i'm a LOST freak drool.gif

-With the region subscription thing issue, am I suppose to have register a Singapore hotmail to tide with my xbox gamertag?
can change ur current hotmail setting to SG address also... login at http://account.live.com. after registering a US account, i changed by hotmail details back to MY.
QUOTE
-Which region work best for us?
as of this moment, Singapore. US accounts got problem buying ms points due to the video marketplace restrictions (check the related thread). and because SG is closest to us also.

yes, just as long as there is a credit card listed as a payment option in your account and the credentials are valid, microsoft will automatically renew your subscription... check your subscription and billing details at http://billing.microsoft.com, login with your gamertag linked passport/live account. check your order history to see what they charge on your credit card.

putting 1 or 3 months subscription on credit card is suicide if u forget to cancel the recurring subscription charges...

help guys, i have try 3 or 4 new profile and all is set to United State when i try to buy MS point it keep rejected and my profile all turn into Singapore rclxub.gif  what should i do?

QUOTE(tailgunner @ Jan 21 2007, 11:50 AM)
done all the way already but it still cant. i asked marauder just now it seems to be something is brocking the creadit card so now i have to buy point card doh.gif
*
try logging on to http://billing.microsoft.com with ur passport/live id, check your billing address there... coz recently my JP account changed to United States. i guess its because my console locale is set to US, but the billing details are still JP. i not sure bout this but its the only explanation i can think of for my JP acc turning into US. doesnt matter anyway coz the JP acc is just a dummy acc.

for US accounts, as of this moment u cannot buy points using non-US credit cards, something to do with the video marketplace region restrictions / legal crap.

QUOTE(babyakuma @ Jan 30 2007, 12:55 PM)
My advice is go for Singapore Region if you are in Malaysia that is..
there is less lag cause the servers are nearer..
I have managed to connect to Australia with Singapore account also..
hardly any lag.. but can see got speed difference a bit..

So go for Singapore! hehehe biggrin.gif
*
regarding servers and lag... it makes no difference if u choose US, Singapore or Uganda... the XB live servers are in the US, in unknown locations (they think it's cool to make it secret, mission impossible / james bond konon tongue.gif ). well, one might argue that since the locations are secret, who knows there might be XB Live servers in SG? the thing is, XB Live server locations don't matter... it's the players' location that do.

XB Live is merely a match-making service; games don't happen on the server, players host the game (thus becoming the game server), other players join this game, ala P2P... XB Live just point a lonely gamer to other lonely gamers (this sounds, *oh so ghey*!). after match-making, it's the players' connection to each other that determine latency... (demn, double-ghey!)

the reasons u should be considering before choosing a region are: download content availability, payment options, ability to purchase MS points.

US has alot of content but problem buying MS Points (for us malaysians)
vs
SG has no problem on purchasing MS Points but not much content (no TV shows sad.gif )

*ps: i cant confirm this but there are reports saying that u currently can use asian ms points card to reload a us account... anyone can confirm whether this still work?

some question guys.
my 360 already added a creadit card in it and if i add another one can i remove the old one?
*
http://billing.microsoft.com - sign in with ur associated live id. can manage ur account details (including credit card) from there. only can disable a card but not totally remove, it will still be there for transaction history purposes, but MS wont use it anymore.
