If you're not hard gainer, I wouldn't suggest you take mass gainer because it is damn expensive with very less servings per pack. It is better you put the money on real food to get complex carb such as brown rice, oats or sweet potatoes. I have mass gainer my own but I rarely use it because it overbulk me with fats. The time I mix it with protein is when I'm really in rush and I need the nutrition for my breakfast to fill up my daily quota.
I think it really depends on individuals, before you buy, get to know ur macro. Mass gainer just way too expensive to invest on.
