Androidpolice was bashing the TX.  sleep.gif

For me, after testing against a few Android phones, I really do love the screen and built quality. Maybe its because I got the touchscreen version "b" which made all the difference? laugh.gif Other than that, it's smooth by my definition (changed my launcher to Nova Launcher), with good battery life. Not awesome, but just good smile.gif

I wished rooting the phone wasn't so complicated, having to downgrade the firmware pulak sleep.gif

Got the phone last Friday, and this is the longest period any of my Android phones has been left unrooted . I feel so, limited. sad.gif Once i can get CWM in, i can has volume wake, status bar mods, battery mode, remove bloatware, etc etc etc whistling.gif icon_idea.gif

I've read the review of tx before. Most of the reviews, including androidpolice, said that tx is not a bad phone. But just that it is also nothing really outstanding about it to be categorize it as a flagship model... Of course, when sony say its a flagship device, expectations must be high.
Have it been released earlier, it surely is an evolutionary device with its sleek design and performance. But it just arrive a little too late, over shadowed by quad core phones like s3, note2 and one x, nexus 4,...

I see..but for first time users of smartphones, the TX should be very good already right? It's just that people have so high expectations nowadays from smartphones...and does One X overshadows TX? It might be quad core, but I heard the battery drains quite fast and it's laggy sometimes
*
like i said, it's definitely not a bad phone, just not there yet to compete head on with the "big boys". for new user definitely worth it, more so for the affordable price now.
starting 2012, quad core phones are making headlines. so the TX, being a dual core only, certainly will lose out in terms of marketing. true that the dual core S4 in TX are very good processor, where in some cases it even outbeat the quad core performance. but in this real world, people tends to look at numbers, GHz, dual core, quad core, ram.... common people will still think "of course 4 brains are better than 2 brains".
one x... on paper it is indeed a very promising device. if you read all the reviews, it can be said second only to the "almighty" S3 at that time. however, u r right that the battery disappoint. u may also read up the one x thread, and u'll find that there's alot of qc problem, especially the 1st batch...

well, anyway, these r just my opinion.
TX used to be my targeted phone when it was first announced drool.gif
but eventually got tired of the long wait and gotten myself acro s last year. now eying on the Z/ZL drool.gif

Relatively scratch proof la, but mine started to show some scratches already.
*
as i know, the pre-applied shaatter proof sheet is very sensitive to scratches. i think adding another layer of screen protector may decrease the touch sensitivity, but barely noticeable la.

WTA, for those who have updated to JB, does the update change the UI interface to greyish tone as seen in the Xperia Z?

It is the same launcher as the one in Z.
*
yeah, i know it's the same launcher as XZ. but as some forumer in XZ mentioned, the screen looks washout is because if the default UI greyish theme. once they root the phone, they can change the UI theme to black, which improve the contrast of the screen.

so, my concern is do you guys feels that the screen looks more greyish/washout after updating to JB?
