Will my 3DS burn if I use a USB cable and plug it onto iPad USB plug for charging?
You mean the AC to USB adapter for ipad/tablet etc right?
Don't, it's too strong. It will shorten your 3ds battery lifespan in the long run or worst case burn it. Ipad needs 2A to charge while 3ds only needs 900mA.
Update on this.. i tried to change the security settings from
WEP 128 bits to 64 bits.... during 128 bits - I can connect to internet through internet browser, but couldn't access to the eshop during 64 bits - can't even access to internet eventhou the connection is successful... hahaha..
my net line is either streamyx(at work) or at home (unifi). It's set to wpa2 if not mistaken. My 3ds internet security is set to WEP and I didn't change anything on router. No problems connecting to either internet or eshop at either location
Anyone purchased on play-asia before? Is it safe and the goods come without any issues? Looking for a decent casing/cover for my 3DS XL. Yup, purchased a few games and 3ds accessories from them. I tried their default shipping method but with registration arrived in 2 weeks, fedex takes about 5 days. My last order took a month+ to send because no stock but it was still listed as available for the whole month.
What is the purpose of streetpass? My pals with 3DS only play games on it and have not really tinkered with the other features of the device, so I'm pretty curious. Streetpass is just an additional feature to a game provided the other party also has the game inserted in their 3ds. Like for Street fighter 4/fire emblem awakening, you can make a team that fights with someone else. For kid icarus uprising, you can set a weapon to be shared(you'll still have it) and when you streetpass you get a copy of the other person's uploaded weapon in exchange. For mii plaza games like the puzzle or find mii game, you can get a new puzzle from the person or use the person's mii as a soldier to fight for you.
Oh, that explains a lot, I guess it'll be like those guild cards for Monster hunter players will exchange when they streetpass.
Will try play-asia when I have to I guess, since I ordered a cheap TPU case from dx.com which the price is almost the same as the shipping price in play-asia itself. Though it'll take between 20-30 days to reach, if it reaches.
For TPU cases, I go for ori as a precaution. I want something that won't melt into the device or become sticky from long term use because you have no idea what the plastic quality is like from 3rd party manufacturers. Since you have ordered it, do update me about it.
There are a few sellers here that sell these sorta stuff, so you could always approach them/search for their threads. Or you could get it outside, maybe from where you got your 3DS XL? I ordered mine from dx.com, but as mentioned by Deinancf, quality wise it may be an issue. Then you could try play-asia.com if you have the money. I'll update here when I get my cheap TPU casing.
For crystal cases, the plastic quality isn't an issue as it will crack if you drop it anyway but it might have bad molding. I had one where I had difficulty opening my 3ds as it squeezed the hinges of the 3ds and rubbed some of the metallic paint off the hinge corner... I ended up just using the bottom case and put an exterior screen protector instead. Anyway, I liked the way it looked without the case.
@kagenn yeah, dx shipping is slow. I once had to wait 2 months for an item to arrive... == but you can't complain it was free shipping. BTW, did it come like that only without any sponge in between?
"Part of the case area for the stylus and SD card seems a little fragile and loose compared to the other parts of the cover." Yeah, it's not visible in the photo either. That would have been a nono for me, but I didn't want a plain case... Even with this, I still sometimes feel the right side coming out a little. "Fingerprints and smudges are a lot less obvious." It leaves fingerprints?
Just keep your 3DS away from the sun & heat if you're worried about melting. Definitely don't leave it in the car! @@
Hmm, the one I have doesn't leave any fingerprints at all. I actually never thought about fingerprints until I read your review. If you had the original 3ds, there's always fingerprints all over the body because of the glossy coating. If 20 days then it's quite a normal shipping time from overseas, a month would be too long. I suppose your review got bumped up because it was very detailed.
I expected at least something in between so it won't bend out of shape during shipping. I actually ordered a 3ds crystal case from them before and it arrived with a sponge in between but like yours it was in a plastic bag and the bubble wrapper envelope but the case was a bit bent but not broken, I'm not sure if it was the molding or it got bent from shipping. But yeah, it also had bits of extra plastic and you have to sand it down so it won't be so sharp.
Speaking of Goa, I don't play MH but I'm really liking the Goa case. So far, only both play asia and yes asia has the case listed on its own but the strange thing is I can't find any japanese retailer than sells it on it's own... not even e-capcom. I hope they are actually able to get it in
