Hey guys, long time no lurking in this forum already. Being here in Taiwan has one major bummer, it is SO hard to find any shop carrying 3DS US games and the recently released 3DS XL Pikachu Edition cost like RM1,000 here compared to some price offer at RM 750 here at LYN. Bummer!

The latest news of New. Etrian Odyssey mark my calendar right away. I had played through the I-III series but haven't got my hand on the fourth sequel yet. I should probably start playing it soon!

Yea that's the main problem. I find it much easier to get games and consoles in Malaysia than Taiwan, and I mean US or even ASI games. They mostly only carry local set (traditional chinese) games here.

You make my heart ichy already. Why the advantage is always on US. There's not even a single GameShop or any retailer that import this, except some but the price is insanely high.

Nope the Taiwanese shop is selling with that price for the US version. For somewhat reason imported games from US is very expensive here than games from JP. Too bad I'm now in Taiwan and will be here for quite some time

Hey guys, one quick question. Say I purchased a retail game off the e-Shop on my 3DS and later purchased a 3DS XL and perform a System Transfer. Will my save game for that game from my 3DS get transferred to the new 3DS XL as well?

I see. Actually the save game I meant is for the retail games that we downloaded from the e-Shop, such as RE: Merceneries. For game catridge it is confirmed that the save game is stored within the cartridge itself.

Finally couldn't stand the wait and ordered the 3DS XL Pikachu Limited Edition + Etrian Odyssey 4 for a whopping RM1,100 here in Taiwan ⋯⋯*\(^o^)/*

Very spot on question about the firmware. If you searched on the Internet most people are searching for 3DS console with Firmware 4.1 - 4.5 in order to use the Gateway 3DS solution which enable one to play backup games.

I'm sure you will enjoy it. Coming from one that owns both Vita and 3DS, I found myself playing 3DS more than Vita with games such as (in the order of preference): Brain Age (one of the main reason why I procure a 3DS in the first place), Etrian Odyssey, Phoenix Wright series, Professor Layton series, Animal Crossing, Tomodachi Life, Super Mario 3D Land, and Harvest Moon (sadly I still think HM: Back to Nature for PS2 is the best). In comparison, I only played Gravity Rush, Disgaea, Final Fantasy X and X-2, Metal Gear Solid. Although enjoyable, these games don't really have much replay value and is sealed in the closet once I beated those.

A bit of sidetracking there In my personal view, I found that Pokemon series had gone through significant changes ever since Black with the increasing complexity which I don't have much time to enjoy. Don't get me wrong though, the game mechanics itself is surely attractive for veteran players but for me that often juggle between games and with limited play time, I got to make sure I distribute the time spent on every game possible. Frankly, I can't recall the storyline for Black/Black2 and X/Y few months after I beat it. But I can perfectly recall Blue, Crystal, Emerald, Platinum very well enough. I must have been too old for new games XD

Who knows, I might start to enjoy Pokemon again when Omega Ruby is released since I really enjoy the game much. Hope they don't introduce any new elements on that game other than touching up the graphics that might spoil the originality of the game. The good old days when I play Ruby on my silverish GBA with dozens of battery replacement. You got to make every second counts to maximize the battery efficiency.
