QUOTE(brotan @ Feb 7 2013, 10:30 AM) hi bro Good morning all. Nice writeup, posted on page 1. nehalem176 's list is also posted. let me give you simple illustration water flowing through bigger diameter pipes will be faster than small diameter ones right? if you have a water pump, pumping water through a long pipe. And that pipe has different diameters from start till end where the water flows out. the final water flow rate will be determined by the smallest diameter in the entire pipe because it is the bottleneck of the entire system imagine now water = current pipe = cable » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « NOTE : This is my theory only hah. I didn't do any scientific experiments to prove it I will have limited time for next couple of weeks, but will do whatever I can. This is a really good discussion thread going on about enhancements to the Note 2 experience, and still no real faults with the product. Keep it up guys and gals. |

QUOTE(mydragoon @ Feb 7 2013, 01:53 PM) ya, this is one disappointing thing about the stock player. some files dun play well... so end up, can't use that pop-up video function. else... can 'action' a bit in front of the others... hahaha... It could be due to the issue of licen$ing, since codecs need to be licen$ed. I recall some devs got cease & desist letters from Dolby to remove DTS and other licen$able stuff or they will sue.QUOTE(antt00 @ Feb 7 2013, 01:57 PM) Fact is 1. He base his facts on stock video player 2. At least he does his own testing, reading, research and is just informing his findings. He is not looking for answers. 3. There are a lot more irritating people in this forum So everyone just chill out and move on. QUOTE(gin&tonic @ Feb 7 2013, 02:20 PM) When u have Positron in the thread there are always arguments & contradictions. Its always the video thing. It like S2 thread all over again. Damn. Looks like Positron is obsessed with benchmarking and videos. It does provide some interesting information but since we are smartphone users, let's be smart about the information we get.Anyway, the best way to deal with trolls or other irritants is to ignore them and not take the bait. I'm not saying that Positron is one, but from many of your posts, he does seem to have some quirks. We can read and move along as what att00 has pointed out. |

QUOTE(crazyissac @ Feb 7 2013, 07:22 PM) anyone having issue of file manager(stock "My Files") before ? suddenly i cant access any folder...press on it and no respond -.-" response, or "it does not respond" QUOTE(antt00 @ Feb 7 2013, 07:38 PM) has QUOTE(antt00 @ Feb 7 2013, 08:48 PM) Back in s2 days gokhan n entropy n one other guy did some test and concluded that the battery chip have a limit on the charging rate that the kernel cannot bypass. hence you can change the charging value to any value but the battery won't charge any faster. which is why gokhan subsequently removed charging rate modification from his kernel. I suppose it's the same for all Samsung battery. This is likely the same for ALL Li-ion batteries since Lithium is highly reactive and dangerous when leaked.Useful battery education: http://www.lygte-info.dk/info/battery%20protection%20UK.html |

QUOTE(mydragoon @ Feb 8 2013, 11:39 AM) one less reason to open up the phone. bro this is not like opening up the car hood to top up yr battery fluid. you don't even need to get yr hands dirty. brotan's post about sending to sc is correct I had a nokia n8 and was told u can't remove the battery if it's softbrick u need to send to sc to restart the phone wtf. it happened to my friend.even padfone2 comes with a battery that is not supposed to be removed by end user. there's a slot on the phone to insert the sim card. with people not opening up the phone... less risk of sth damaged... from user POV. if you're really a non-techie... then very easy to trouble-shoot. just bring back to SC. no need for technician to tell you to open the case, remove battery... insert this... insert that... |

QUOTE(kevintth @ Feb 8 2013, 07:09 PM) so that they can win iphone quality in drop test Plural of stuff is stuff. ehm then u were saying Samsung is stupid ... see note 2 / S3 so many buyers got money dun 1 earn hahaha Agreed... iphone always expect ppl to use their stuffs... without able to modify... "without being able to" Back cover flying off during drop test is not a negative IMHO. Well they make the money only when your user goes to SC and it is out of warranty, so it's deferred revenue. Besides, with all the shops in LYP, they could also easily service the phone for you, so a sealed battery is not a guarantee of making money, but it surely restricts user choice. |

QUOTE(sacremento @ Feb 8 2013, 09:17 PM) Been reading few pages back but I could not agree with water thingy. This is a bit off topic. Haha you are in marine engineering right? If I remembered correctly, water that flows in a bigger diameter pipe will flow in a lower speed and high temperature because of the high pressure and vice versa. Another simple example, place your hand in front of your mouth and breathe out with a wide mouth open. You get low speed and warm blow of air. You do it with a small mouth open and you will get the opposite reaction. This is bernoulli's principle. QUOTE(PoorVenderz @ Feb 9 2013, 12:42 AM) guys, i hope i in a right thread regarding my problem. All telcos have dates called "Bill Cycle", specified at various dates throughout the month. You got a prorated reading based on your assigned bill cycle date. You can ask the center to check what is your bill cycle date or call 123 they should also be able to tell you. That is why you are getting those figures. i hope you guys can help me or giving me some feedback. i signed note 2 plan @ surfmore 50 on 31/1/2013. once i signed i get 1.8gb on my data plan. i received a msg from maxis on 7/2/2013 regarding about my data plan. it said my previous limit is 462.5mb, current usage is 174mb and balance is 288.5mb. on 8/2/2013, i received again from maxis. it said my limit is 1321.3mb, current usage is 13.6mb and balance is 1307.7mb. how they calculated my usage? i on my data less than 2hours everyday and no downloading. how come they minus so many mb? and my area kamunting @ perak, it show EDGE only all the time and couldnt let me do browser/connect. but the problem is there is a maxis centre within my area, about 1km. i thought it should be no problem about the signal/connection since the centre is near? so basically i need some feedback is how they calculate my usage and the connection problem. anyone can help me? i call 123 b4, they told me to wait till the bill come and call 123 back ask them to check my usage per day, i tried to ask them but they like not helping me at all. You can very simply check your usage by dialing this: *136*9*1# - this is a shortcut to the menu item that returns your data usage so far. This code applies only for Maxis. For Celcom you need to send an SMS with the words "VOL STATUS" to 22188. I don't know about Digi. Do you guys need this info on the first page? QUOTE(muctabucta @ Feb 9 2013, 01:41 AM) Dunno if you guys felt the same but the only let down for my note 2 is the screen under direct sunlight..its like reading quantum physics where I know there should be words on the fella..but minimal comprehension is emphasize..damn near impossible to read..how do you guys go about it?..I asked my fiancee who's using Galaxy S..she said her screen ain't so..so must not be cause of AMOLED screen right? or is it? tried maxing out the brightness..turn on auto..but to no avail....didn't realize I bought an Edward Cullen.. In any case..happy hols and have a great CNY guys.. QUOTE(Superman7 @ Feb 9 2013, 01:43 AM) all displays are currently like this behaviour under the sun. None I've seen shows significant better performance under the sun Superman7 is right. I also wonder why in the heck would anyone want to sit under the hot sun and read? I mean, all the reviews of any kind of device (phones, notebooks) will always have a short paragraph on readability in direct sunlight, and so far the only screen that addresses this properly is from Pixel Qi, who make custom DIY replacement screens for notebooks.Still, I personally feel that one should not be complaining about reading in sunlight. What's the difficulty in shading the screen with your palm? |

QUOTE(solsekuin44 @ Feb 9 2013, 02:07 AM) QUOTE(solsekuin44 @ Feb 9 2013, 02:12 AM) Good evening Cikgu.IP address will be assigned by the router. It will be fixed only if the router does not expire your "lease" ahahaa. Your IP address will also typically change if you reboot your device or router. The MAC address is fixed as it is a value burned into the firmware of the network device by the manufacturer, so typically the MAC address is the unique IC number of any networked device in the world. However there are known ways to spoof the MAC address ie making a device with MACaddress1 show up as MACaddress2. The above is a very very short summary of a very long subject. QUOTE(sacremento @ Feb 8 2013, 11:05 PM) Will reducing input current while charging has any effect on the battery? Will it deteriorate faster? Maybe we need to ask people doing Chemical Engineering. I think there is a forumer here who is studying that. Perhaps it falls under electrochemistry. For example you are leaving your phone charged the whole night while sleeping. Setting the input current lower like 300mAh-400mAh. Probably will take 6 to 8 hours to fully charged from 0%. |
