Instead of splitting races/events in groups which are in fact not the same event at all, why don't we first take a bit more time to expand our league by recruiting more drivers? We're not that far from having 21 or 22 (dunno how many can race RH2004) I'm sure we could find more drivers by posting on many F1C related boards/forums. Preferably they should be residents of S-E Asia. This would allow us more time to fine tune the LYN league and how , where and when races are to be held AND lower the cost by HALF of the present cost for every drivcer now. You may actually find that you can get sponsorships once you have a full league, an official LYN webpage/website with adverts for sponsors and all. I have too many financial responsibilities right now to sponsor anything but could afford to chip in equally along with other drivers.
Races would be much more exciting if they were held with all drivers at once. This post has been edited by Penzman: Aug 8 2006, 04:06 PM |

if the league gets any bigger, it would take a great deal to manage it...and its kinda tough to find people to sposor when there are lots of other internet races which do not have sponsoring.
I'd say we start off RH2004 with the "solution 2" first and try to get sponsoring for the rest of the season or for the 2005 season This post has been edited by young_soul: Aug 8 2006, 04:21 PM |

RH04 only allowed 20 racers (correct me if i'm wrong).Races would be much more exciting if they were held with all drivers at once. That is good idea to have own server and 20 racers race together, but 1. After finish first and second season, will we continue third season? Which version of F1C mod we use? 2. Even we have own website, own league, but we not confirm will get sponsorship, cause RH04 and RH05 considered old mod. 3. IMHO, some of us might playing rfactor instead of F1C, cause ctdp already have rfactor F1 season 2005 mod, and at the same time, 2006 mod in the progress. Where as, no news bout RH06 mod. |

I agree with penzman, no one person can bear the fees alone. We need more drivers to lower down the cost, but if we dont start at one point, we'll never rope in new players. Yes it is more challenging and more exciting if can all race at once.
I say that we should always opt for solution no 1, but in the mean time there's no harm in trying solution no 2. So why not give solution 2 a try? Lets test this Friday; One full hour of Practice and then race. The race should be set to around 40-45% to give enough time for the driver and fuel consumption down to x2. What do you say? Before that i need to know whats your pc spec and your net connection.. pls post as follow Proc speed : RAM : Graphic Card : Net connection : Net upload : Net download : I'll go first : Proc speed : Celeron D 3.06GHz RAM : 256 Graphic Card : none Net connection : streamyx basic 1.O M Net upload : 384 k Net download : 384 k |

Does anyone know about Fragnetics? Found them through Google yesterday and they host games. I wrote them yesterday and they replied today. See below.
================ > Hi, > > We are an online racing league with members in Malaysia, Thailand and > other parts of Asia. These are the Pacific Internet Data Centre at the Science Park, and Qala Data Centre at Jurong East. We have dedicated bandwidth at Qala and shared bandwidth at Pacific Internet, so I'm sure that we can host your game server and offer you a couple of options at different price points. May I ask what's your rough budget for such a server and the technical requirements for hosting such a game? Please feel free to contact me via e-mail, on MSN at chris_choo@hotmail.com or on my mobile phone at +65 94510067 so we can discuss further. Thank you for your interest in our services. Firstly, if there is a race this weekend or this week, i cant make it as im at my hometown so this pc doesnt have F1C install in it.
Next is the spec: kEi: Proc: AMD64 3000+, 1.8GHz RAM: 1024MB GC: ATi Radeon 9600Pro Net Connection: Streamyx 512Kbps but dunno y when doing BW check it gives about 800Kbps for DL (but due to sharing with 3 other housemates so connection might be slow bit sometimes..) |
