Hi guys
I have frequent disconnection with my d link router - unifi default orange router.
I have been planning to get it changed. Anybody faces the same issue with this router?
I am nt sure whether this is due to the router or something else.

Anybody can give me some advice?

Thanks.

since the equipments are under warranty, i'd be calling tm first and let them solve it
perhaps if really router issue, get tm to replace with a new one (L7 router aka DIR-614)
if u dont mind to fork out some $, try replacing it with a compatible router eg Asus RT N13U etc

having said that, the router may not be culprit, so let tm technician come and check 1st IMHO

Hi.
I have actually called them once. Then they replace another new dir 614 for me. Then I realised that the problem still persists.
And every time when I log in to the router setting I realise that it is offline. Then I need to either reconnect it manually or restart the whole system again. Less than 20 mins the same thing happen again. >. <

perhaps its not router issue then..get tm tech to fix it.
*
If router issue then what will be the signs?
I faced the similar problem of frequent disconnection as well, but when they came here, they waited for 30 mins, but couldn't check anything because the disconnection didn't happen.

back to the basic theory, what you pay what you get !  tongue.gif
TPlink yes they have gigabit chipset, but it din really cater traffic very well as i expected..
if you are turning on your router 24/7, i wont recommend this... better u go get n12 or n16 if u have budget...  smile.gif
*
How much is n12 and n16?
When you buy new router u just need to key in the username and password only right. Dun hv to do anything else right?

Mind to explain how is traffic catering?

n12 is rm200, n16 is rm299 i guess? not sure about the current market price...

yes, make sure u have both username and password... and make sure the router can support unifi for ease of use...

flashing firmware not really encourage unless you know what you are doing... basically,it is just improving the stability of the router and exploit it to adding function to that...

i just bricked a unit of 1043nd, but manage to save it back luckily lol  rclxm9.gif

Oh. Thank you so much.
I might be getting one later. Called the unifi guy just now. Hopefully they can settle my issue. My router doesn't have warranty anymore. If screwed then need to replace a new one.

Have a Dir-615 here, so far speed still satisfied.
with 2 bars of WiFi signal
still get 6-7 mbps, lucky then 9 mbps.
what router should i change to?
*
I am using DIR 615 and the connection is not smooth at all especially when i am using youtube. I would suggest you to stick to DIR 615 if you don't have any difficulty with the current router.
I am thinking to change but I am not really sure whether the problem is caused by the router. One night I have to manually connect it for more than 10 times, Big headache.

DSL light and VoIP light did not go off. All the LED indicators look okay. The only way to fix it is to turn it off and turn on again. But will dc again after 20-30 mins. That's so strange.

Is ZTE better compared to Huawei?
*
Exactly like what I am facing right now. My disconnection is every 5 to 10 mins.
Please update us on how you rectify this problem later.

Thanks.
