PS : Good job Francis! You'll need to make a post of your collection on first post though. I can't imagine how much you have - what 40 or 50 FP polos and shirts? ;P

I really really dig your FP x Drake's. I was told only 300 were being made.

And thanks, I do have the intention to consolidate and document down all the info and photos of FP that had been posted in the previous thread so that new comers won't have to go through the whole thread just to find the information.

Wish me luck!

Where do you guys usually buy Fred Perry's apparels from?
When I study in the UK I used to bought a lot of FP's polo for daily wears because their XS slim flatters me than most others polos (Ralph Lauren, FCUK, Burberry etc) available out there.

Now that I'm back in Malaysia though, I was told KLCC is the only place to go :/

Relli missed the life in UK.
The branded apparels in UK is cheaper than Malaysia.
The burberry polo in outlet only GBP50, about RM250.
Regreted did not buy more and bring it back to Malaysia. vmad.gif

I was hunting high and low for that one. White 5212 60th anniversary!

I saw it on a mini members only sale in November, but I thought I would wait for the bigger sale in Dec. Dec and January came and went - this was sold out everywhere! sad.gif

This 60th anniversary fits a size bigger. If you are wearing size s, you should look for size XS.

I sold mine, the one in light blue/red to a forum member for below rm300.

Hmm do you have anymore 5212? Thanks for the sizing tip, I think I'll hunt around somemore smile.gif

Sorry mate, that was the only 5212 that I had.

Apparently the black and white are the most sought after but I personally prefer the light blue.

I noticed from Fred Perry website that black tip tipped slim fit polo looks so old. Like the colour is fading. Kinda back me off from buying. Opinion on this?

Plan to drop by KLCC to have a look before I order from the website.

Mind asking someone is selling a fred perry polo T , m3600 slim fit.
A portion of the wash label has been cut and there is no tag but the seller say there is water proof mark at the wash label to prove it is authentic.
Hmm.. so i wonder is this product original or OEM?

Yeah he sell like RM 40 cheaper than other seller, but then he said he cut the tag for tax purpose and direct from factory.
But he proven there is water mark.

Care to elaborate on 'unstable'? Mentally unstable?

Price cut happens to almost everything, not only FP. A RL polo can cost as low as USD 30 in factory outlet at Las Vegas. An E-class Mercedes-Benz can has a price slash of as much as RM50k for an outgoing model.

IMO, it is hard to get 3XL FP in Malaysia..
Consider XXL ralph lauren?

You are wearing M3600 or M1200 ?

M1200 XXL should be the largest size. M3600(Slim fit) is 1 size smaller.

A buyer have no confidence and having doubt that my Fred Perry is authentic. He refers it as "look like real" during the COD.

By showing detailed photo of the shirt here, I really hope it could clear all the buyer's doubts.

You guys be the judge.

Hi guys,

Hope someone can advice me on this.

I recently acquired an MI China, FP M6000 slim fit S size. I check all the tag, and watermark and they're all there.

I noticed that the size although it's slim fit is relatively bigger than the M3600.

Can anyone advise me on how do i identify the sizing for different model codes?

HI GUYS,

FOR YOUR INFORMATION THE WATERMARK INSIDE THE WASH TAG IS NOT THE IMPORTANT THING TO VERIFY EITHER THE SHIRT IS ORIGINAL OR NOT. EVEN IF THERE IS NO WATERMARK INSIDE THE WASH TAG, BUT ITS STILL CAN CLAIM AS ORIGINAL. EVEN IF U BUY FROM BOUTIQUE ALSO SOMETIMES DOES NOT HAVE WATERMARK INSIDE THE WASH. U CAN OPEN AND READ IN THE FIRST THREAD OF FRED PERRY. BECAUSE THERE ARE FEW GUYS THAT CLAIM THEIR SHIRT DOES NOT HAVE WATERMARK INSIDE THE WASH TAG AFTER BOUGHT FROM BOUTIQUE.

I dont know if fp produce different batch of washing tab..with or without watermark..but all my fp polo do have it..and i believe old batch or vintage fp might not have the watermark thing..but i cannot accept if new batch if production have this kind of irregularities in their product..

to help a bit on this issue, about 2 years ago i bought a MIE polo from the gardens.. forgot what was the shop's name. the polo does not have the watermark too.

but like chaz said, newer production have to be consistent in stuff like these.

all fp wash tag must have the watermark. tapi klu dah beli kat boutique pon takde watermark nak buat mcm mane bro.
sbb tu yg pentingnye tgk logo fred perry tu dijahit mcm mane bukan watermark.sbb logo fred perry ni laen country laen logo die.mcm logo italy laen sket bentuk die compared dgn england.

tapi for surenye semua logo fp dijahit dgn kemas and cantik.kelopak die pon tak terlalu bnyk and tak terlalu siket.then tgk info dkt wash tag (code, factory, font) smile.gif

Well as i said..i would never condone any irregularities in their product..yeah it's a mass production thing but that's really something fp QC must look into..

I am paying premium buying from boutique..compared to what i can get buying online..so i wouldn't say it's ok to accept that just because i got from official boutique..if anyone is happy that their fp being with or without watermark thing..that's their preferences..

Just my 2 cents

Guys,
Just wanna share I just got another Fred Perry Twin Tipped Oxford Polo Shirt online to my collection, got it for RM238. The watermark thing is not important as kasualinton mention, my red colour FP Polo doesnt have the watermark and I bought it at UK FP store when i went there for vacation (my first FP polo), the white and the Dark Blue want has the watermark and i bought it in retail store in MY and another online. I have checked with the online seller which i had bought my Oxford Polo recently, he say my stock is to be sold at US, New Zealand and Aus, thus u can see the price tag there (not all stock have price tag) but he say most of his stock will have the FP tag intact. I have taken it to vefiry at KLCC FP and its say its Ori. you can see the watermark is very light for this Oxford. Enjoy your FP everyone! Hope this help

Is it just me or the quality of Fred Perry accessories such as the bags are of poor quality? Bought a FP holdall for daily college use and after a few months the zip came off and by the end of the wear the straps broke.

Hi everyone, you seem to know a lot about Fred Perry so I thought I'd ask here.

I bought a FP jumper from ebay (probably a mistake to begin with) that looks loads like this one on ASOS, same colour laurels, same fit, cuffs collar and hem all look the same. The wool also feels thick and good quality But the laurels on the jumper are thinner and larger than on my other FP clothes, so I think it may be a fake, which is odd because all the labels look correct to me.
Even so, they look thinner on the legit one so I'm not sure what to think. There is also a label with a style number and washing instructions that is the same as all my other FP stuff.

Here's some pics any help greatly appreciated, if it's a fake I will return it!

This is the legit one on ASOS

Here's pics of mine, with size comparison.

Hi guys ... i just bought this at size 36... I am currently wearing size s of FP's slim fit polo... do you think it will fit me ? I don't mean fit me like the slim fit does, but as in a regular fit way. if i couldn't fit, would you guys say it is best to alter it ? or sell it off ?

i would say it is smaller than 36". I have drake's at 36, and the slim fit S wear tighter than the drake's.

I am a Facebook Seller who takes in FRED PERRY AUTHENTIC polo t and long sleeve formal. 100% authentic and refund if found fake. I am selling it at a much lower price compared to the one in KLCC and PAVILION as it is from factory directly. Kindly have a look and give it a like if you are satisfied.

Would appreciate your opinions based on relevant pics below. Hope my fears will be allayed :/

Hey peeps. Need some help from FP sifus here. Whats the equivalent size of Fred Perry M300 Slim Fit as to compared with Ralph Lauren Custom Fit Size S and Lacoste Size 2?. I own a M12 Made in England size 38 , the chest seems alright but the sleeve and length is a bit too long to my liking. Dilemma to either chose S or M. Purchasing via online and I'm unable to go KLCC to test it out atm! =\

A safest way to justify on authenticity of Fred Perry is on its watermark behind the wash label:

It is only true to certain series but doesn't apply to all Fred Perry polo shirts. MIJ F series doesn't come with any watermark. Same goes to some vintage Fred Perry.

Yup I am aware of it, without the watermark doesn't mean it is fake but with watermark will be a solid prove of authentic.

Usually I don't judge with just 1 point, there are still many indication such as the laurel shape, workmanship, etc.

even if there is watermark but its still need to check carefully coz grade AAA also now have watermark inside the wash label. there is something else beside the wash label that will prove its authentic. like font on the wash label, coding at the collar tag, etc smile.gif

I think what he meant is in term of cutting, fabric etc.

Based on my limited knowledge, Made in Italy FP is quite hard to come by, and mostly are sweaters, knitted polos and cardigans, like the Made in Scotland Fred Perry. It is slimmer, almost similar to MIJ and M3600; M1200 is regular fit. It is perceived to be more 'prestigious' than the rest. That is why most of the time they can be found under the FP Laurel Wreath collection.

Guys, I've encountered a FP polo that look exactly like this as well, is it fake/ori? What concerns me is the collar tag is black, isnt it must be blue always? And the sewing of the laurel inside is as shown in the picture.

Hi..

Last weekend, while steam ironing my polos.. realized that the quality of FP is deteriorating. It was a breeze to steam iron the RL/BS/Hackett polos but FP was a hassle. And the material is really rough compared to the others.

Am i the only one experiencing this?

Anyways, these are the normal m3600 not MIJ/MIE and purchased via a trusted seller here in LYN with the laurel watermark and all..

Any thoughts?

If the fake ones have the laurel watermark.. online purchasing isn't safe anymore.

You can't depends on one aspect to conclude its authenticity, there are other factors as well such as the label, laurel, craftsmanship etc.

You can't depends on one aspect to conclude its authenticity, there are other factors as well such as the label, laurel, craftsmanship etc.
*
I agree. The point I'm trying to make here is.. we now buy via LYN aka online. We can only determine the craftsmanship only when we receive them, meaning post purchase, no? Getting a refund will be a long drama that I would like to avoid.

QUOTE(RahmanHWZ @ Jan 18 2014, 06:02 PM)
Indeed there're fake FP with laurel watermark inside the wash label circulating the market as early as late 2012.
*
2012? Which means, there could be a high possibility that the FP's we've been buying online are fake, as we've been relying too much on the watermark. Damn!

i agree. that's why i don't like to buy online. if i can't see them first, i'm not entirely sure they are genuine. anyone heard of Melwani's? they sell past season's stuff; a little defect but good. so far, i've been to their sales 3 times and the service was very good…got some nice stuff there too. i totally recommend this place if you're in KL.

QUOTE(F.Galaxy @ Jan 18 2014, 07:56 PM)
how to make sure what we are buying is genuine? since all fake product looks so real now, especially online. hard to find trust seller these days.

RED ALERT!!

FAKE FRED PERRY M3600 Slim Fit spotted eventhough it comes with watermark! Avoid any seller claimed that the M3600 Fred Perry is authentic but WITHOUT ANY TAG. THOSE ARE MOSTLY FAKE!!!

I have to tell you that these FAKE M3600 is really real, from the photos posted by the sellers you can't tell it is FAKE until you have the actual one in hand and compared it to the ORIGINAL M3600. China is improving very fast in producing high grade counterfeit Fred Perry. I don't think most of the sellers are aware that those M3600 that they are selling are FAKE M3600.

Please refer to the photos below that I took, comparing with the Original M3600. The FAKE M3600 is in Coral Red Colour whereby the ORIGINAL M3600 is in Black & BLUE.

FAKE M3600 - Watermark

Look closely at the twin-tipped. The FAKE one is with greenish yellow on CORAL RED whereby the ORIGINAL is yellow on BLACK and WHITE on BLUE. See the difference in the sewing pattern?

The material used and feel of the FAKE M3600 is somehow thinner and 'holely'.
FAKE M3600:

ORIGINAL M3600 in Black and Blue. The material used is more compact, less 'holely':

Could you please compare the watermark and see if it has any differences on the reflectivity compare to authentic?

BTW the laurel on the fake already slightly off though.

All cotton shirts will shrink after first wash, usually the length will be shorter, but usually branded shirt like RL or FP they have pre-shrink treatment during fabrication process thus lower the margin substantially. El-cheapo replica usually don't have this treatment thus it will shrink more, sometimes up to 2~3cm.

I got a suggestion,
how about we forumer work out together ,
to define the seller here who selling authentic FRED PERRY? Then maybe we can suggest their thread on the first page?
Or maybe can open a new thread,
with all those branded one,
so we can suggest authentic seller with good reputation,
so its easier and decrease the chances of getting cheat by "FAKES" ?
So that people who is looking for an authentic one, can always refer to that seller,
but of course stage-by-stage investigate have to go thru =)

just a suggestion.

Caveat emptor! Let the buyer beware!

Tread with caution whilst dealing with this seller.

Though the seller claimed that all the Fred Perry polo shirts that he was selling were original, he can't be sure and has no confidence about the authenticity of his items as the Japanese may had cheated him (after I told him that I know how to identify the fake Fred Perry).

Ask the people around here if I ever make up any story?! You started to get nervous when I told you that I know how to identify the fake Fred Perry, and you went on to tell me you were not an expert in identifying fake Fred Perry and if the Japanese cheated you, you will be in trouble. Perhaps I can print screen your PM and post it here and at your sales thread to recall your memory?!

Also, you know that I can't be possible to COD with you at Kelantan, and asking someone to COD on behalf of me don't make any different as not many people know how to identify fake Fred Perry, even some seasoned sellers were tricked. You can't blame them as the imitation technique has improved tremendously.

Thus, if you are not sure of the authenticity of your Fred Perry, just tell it up front.

ok, my mistake. my mistake for not being 'super power knowledgeable about FP' like you do. everyone, i want to admit that i m not sure about this MIJ F1286 authenticity since i never see any fake item for this FP F1286. guys, beware of me ok..

anyway, at least ask for more pictures or details about this FP before come out with statement at public bro.. you already destroy my business in LYN. well, my mistakes again... beware of me please...

please pm me for refund. Sorry for selling you some thing that is suspicious.
this color B87 is from UK Ebay, because can't find this color in any online store or official website.
before i bought in bulk, i bought 1 to see if it is authentic, and it comes with watermark, then only i bought in bulk, a total of 6 pieces, including 1 belong to me.
since it is concluded by attacusatlas to be fake, i will take full responsibility for this.
Luckily Fred Perry has changed its washing tag for 2014, which is easier to differentiate now.
I will now only buy from online store/ official website, since even Ebay UK can have fake with watermark.
Once again , i m sorry and please pm me for refund.

Luckily Fred Perry has changed its washing tag for 2014, which is easier to differentiate now.
I will now only buy from online store/ official website, since even Ebay UK can have fake with watermark.
Once again , i m sorry and please pm me for refund.

vchong has been one of a handful authentic Fred Perry sellers in this forum. In this incident, he resumes all the responsibilities and refunds his buyers. No question asked. This is what we refer as courage and not many will have the balls to do it. A lot will just blame the source and push the responsibilities to the buyers.

I don't know him. Never met him before. However I will continue patronizing him should something interesting pop up from his sales thread time to time.

Period.

Thanks bro, Responsible seller! Salute to you! Already Whatapps you & awaiting your reply.

Actually as a consumer like me also very innocent, paid RM2xx to get a suspicious items.

What if someone can tell that's not an authentic FP wearing on me, it will sure spoiled my image & reputation. sad.gif

Next time even wear a authentic polo also people will think it's fake. sweat.gif

I do not put the blame on you, hope to hear from you soon. thumbup.gif

Mind-blowing, too-good-to-be-true! Fred Perry x Pac Man is sold out everywhere, even in Mars and Jupiter. Anyone game? Those who already purchased it from mydeal can you please testify if it is authentic? Thanks.

http://www.mydeal.com.my/deals/kuala-lumpu...cludes-delivery

And I am not astonished to see M3600 selling at RM240. Authentic? Not sure but one thing for sure is those photos are 'borrowed' from other online store.

http://www.mydeal.com.my/deals/kuala-lumpu...cludes-delivery

If I am willing to spend RM240 for a M3600, I will go here:
http://item.taobao.com/item.htm?spm=a230r....&id=23771084733

Why? Cheaper ma!

Yeap that is M3600. Lately there are a lot of fake M3600 going around. They are so 'real' that even seasoned FP sellers and buyers were made to believe that those are authentic.

And with regards to the Pac Man polos, they are sold out everywhere at retail price, not even the brand owner, the Fred Perry has stock. Will you believe those jokers can 're-order' and sell it at very much discounted price? I don't know, all these just sound fishy to me.

Oh btw, anyone here really think those guys at mydeal know how tell if those FP are fake or real? Even FP will need to have the actual items in hand before they can verify, not by just looking at a few detailed photos.

Just wondering, is there a difference in quality between Fred Perry Heritage Polo (http://www.djbennett.com/heritage-polo.html) with the Slim Fit polo (http://www.endclothing.com/fred-perry-slim-fit-plain-polo-161682.html) besides one is in slim fit and the other isn't?

What I meant was the horses were more common that the laurel wreath. Thus ppl should stop wearing fred perry before it becomes too mass market like those horses.

In Malaysia? Highly unlikely.

In Hong Kong? Maybe. It was on 50% discount last year at all izzue outlets.

For the past 5 years i got taxed for every parcel than came through courier companies irrespective of the amount.

Singapore is more systematic - you only get taxed if the invoice exceeds certain amount but it is unfair to compare Malaysia to Singapore - what system and process are we referring to in Malaysia???? Even the cabinet can be bloated, yeah the ppl working with government sectors are mostly bloated too.

They use Fedex. 15GBP per shipment irrespective of weight. Good for the FP reseller. Yeah there will be tax imposed but all in it is still a lot more affordable than the local retail.

err...S-Marketing... I think someone mentioned this company before, they import super A fred and sell it, you can go and visit though, take a look on the Fred Perry embroidery back side, usually the color of the thread has white threads in embedded, oh and check on the button holes as well, most fake has poorly made button hole.

Hi guys, I'm planning to get this.

http://www.fredperry.com/men/woven-shirts/...eeve-m8305.html

Normally I'm wearing M size but I'm not sure about FP sizing. Their M size is like asian M or should I get S size instead?

There was once I bought M size shirt online and it's like L size to me. So I think I should have bought S instead.

Anyone can help?

Photos too small for me to see, but I guess it could be caused by washing detergent, did you dissolve detergent into water before putting your cloth in? Or putting your cloth then pour detergent, then add water?

Hard to tell though, the only way to check is to look at more detailed photos, especially behind the chest laurel, wash labels, main labels etc.

No matter normal brand or expensive brand, if it is 100% cotton fabric, it is all having same characteristic, doesn't mean expensive brand fabric will be chemical proof though.

That is what I guess, usually chemical will be abrasive to the dye on fabric.

Never ever pour detergent directly into the clothes, always dilute with water first then only put cloth into it.
