I read some article saying that elantra is actually a SKD (semi knock down) in malaysia. Most parts were assembled in Korea, only tyres and doors are assembled in Kulim Inokom factory. One more thing I noted is the touchscreen/navi system in the 1.8 is malaysia-made capalang brand while in the 1.6 is Korea-made so sound is better than 1.8.

I think Gamma and Nu is just a name to differentiate the generation. What different in MPI (Multi Port Injection) and GDI (Gasoline Direct Injection) is that, GDI generate more power with direct fuel injection. U can see Sonata 2.0 MPI engine generate 162ps while the i40 2.0 GDI generate 178ps. GDI engine existed for quite some time already, the reason Malaysia did not bring in GDI engine as from what I read, the bad fuel quality in Malaysia (ie: ron92/ron95). I did not know what are the effect of bad fuel quality to GDI engine.

just brought my baby to service this thursday, with ecu reset, now it has become 588km/l, switch from shell to petron, hehe. I wonder if it is just a reading, and we might get different result in the actual fuel consumption. But thanks to all sifu for the tips sharing.
