how to create a cartoon model by using certain material?...which material should i use to form it and harden it after form....can i DIY? coz its a part of my final project for character design, and i decided to create a model out for certain purpose....anyone can help?

or just go to the shop.. maybe in city square.. i forgot the name...

no vinyl..is a character model.. normally ppl use clay o watever to create it in 3D form...where to buy the material and all?....i wanna mould my own character....thx

long time ago, when i was in primary school

my teacher give us this japanese manufactured "white colour clay" that will hardened automatically when u unpack it. cost is RM10 that time,

not sure still can find in malaysia or not.

normally they use paperclay

i tried it before using paper clay, very cheap but so leceh...coz it dried up pretty quick need to put water from time to time...plus if not properly buildup can cause cracks when finish...

IMHO super sculpey is the best if you're still beginner bcoz you can take you time sculpting the model and it does dry up at all...the surface is very smooth and when finish you can oven bake to hard...it's very expensive though...

where can i buy those stuff? wat i nit to buy?...how much is it?...use wat to colour?...i heard poster colour can colour on it, really ar?.... u mean the oven is those normal oven which we used it to re-heat our food?...wont it be like abit geli when we mix our food n our clay in 1 oven?..is there any other alternative way to harden it?... plz help...coz my due time is next week.... sigh..

yes super sculpey can be baked in home oven, but beware it gives off fumes during baking...so you need to clean you oven afterwards...DON'T MICROWAVE...

i personally don't bake them since i always build it using armatures (use dawai besi from hardware store)...so i can pose them...

another tip...to save on using clay...you can build the bulk of the mass using aluminium foil and wires, then wrap and sculpt the surface using clay...

for tools, you can DIY...you can use pencil or pointed objects for detailling and use sudu to smooth out the sculpt...

here's a tip...if you want satisfaction and quality to your work, use super sculpey...if you want quick, cheap, "bole la ni..." kinda work, go for paper clay or even easier...plastecin

at Craft Haven , located in One Utama, near TGV (the old wing)....
pretty cheap too, compare to other places I've seen.... somemore 25% discount...
I bought a block of Super Sculpey Firm for rm44 (other places I've seen around 60 -65)...

yea mostly industrial will go for sculpey or super sculpey, polymer clay. THAT u can bake it not paper clay. Anyway, paper clay sucks..it'll turns very dried up after a while..yup craft haven at OU got those stuff.

yea... but good for people who r new, and just wanna have a try in sculpting....
