 how to create a character model?...

how to create a cartoon model by using certain material?...which material should i use to form it and harden it after form....can i DIY? coz its a part of my final project for character design, and i decided to create a model out for certain purpose....anyone can help?

no vinyl..is a character model.. normally ppl use clay o watever to create it in 3D form...where to buy the material and all?....i wanna mould my own character....thx

where can i buy those stuff? wat i nit to buy?...how much is it?...use wat to colour?...i heard poster colour can colour on it, really ar?.... u mean the oven is those normal oven which we used it to re-heat our food?...wont it be like abit geli when we mix our food n our clay in 1 oven?..is there any other alternative way to harden it?... plz help...coz my due time is next week.... sigh..
