Yeah. But they are so far behind at this point...

What to get now? I like the hardware in those Sony A7 series cameras, but I don't like how the cameras feel. At all. Or how to use them. Panasonic doesn't have SR. Samsung doesn't either, and is as dead as dead can be. Olympus lacks 4K yet, but that will change for sure. At least they are actually doing something. Pretty expensive for such a small sensor though. I think I'll stick to my K-5 for a little longer... as long as possible. Though it still being my favorite Pentax for video... a camera that is 6 (!) years old now is just sad.

It's so depressing, because Pentax makes almost perfect cameras, but kick themselves out of the race by not giving a f*** about video. Just a tiny bit of effort would be enough. Just being a few years instead of half a decade behind everyone else. But they can't even do that.

IMHO if Pentax continues on their screw video path, they will vanish. For plenty of pros they are simply not an option because of that. Beginners look at what pros use, and when they see pros don't use Pentax... And for the rest who just aren't sure what they want from a camera, the knowledge that Pentax sucks at video will be an issue. Yes, they may end up never shooting video, but how do they know? If Pentax is a bit better at stills, but so little that you can't really see, but they are terrible at video, then why buy Pentax? Why take chances? There are not many buyers of Ariel Atoms, despite being great drivers cars. But too specialized. People buy AMGs etc. instead. A tool that is too specialized for something will struggle against all-rounders that may not be perfect at any task, but do everything well.
