Anyone still playing this game? Looking for a partner to do couple runs with.

A lot of new stuff already added, but I lost interest in it already since the old gang stopped playing.

Maybe will come back laters.

After every update, they add lots of stuff that I don't know what to do with.

For instance horticulture.

I suddenly started finding seeds, bags of lime, etc. I don't even know how to start farming.

Seems kind of complicated now? So what does the tents do and need to keep warm and stuff?

It used to be so simple...

Find gear. Find friends. Take off pants. Find victims. Make em sing or Kill em all.

Did you know you can go crazy if you eat human meat. Your character will start laughing or crying to himself. Yes, I'm serious.

DayZ has regional servers in Singapore. So our ping is very low.

The developers also has a couple of Experimental servers in Singapore, which is nice for SEA testers.

omg... wanna get it... can play using broadband?
*
Yes, I don't see why not. As long as you aren't on limited data. In my experience DayZ uses a lot of bandwidth due to the un-optimised state.

I haven't played much for long time already, last time I logged in was just to see the new stuff.

But please remember, this is an Alpha state game. It is not complete and really test you rpatience sometimes in terms of bugs at every update.

DayZ is a Steam game. A digital copy. Owners can't sell you their copy like console discs.

So I started again to check out the latest update 0.58 and so far it has been awesome.

Persistence is now on every public server enforced by BI. Meaning there is no server reset every hour for loot. Only on private servers they can do that.

Persistence means you can store items in tents and it will stay on server as long as you interact with it (move an item) within 7 days. If it goes on 7 days without interaction, it will disappear.

Barrels have been added also as a storage facility which is also persistent.

V3S truck (vehicla) is also a mobile storage, it has parts like wheels that can be damaged and repaired, needs gasoline to run and also a truck battery and a glow plug (spark plug) to start the engine. It is also persistent.

Central loot economy is in but don't really understand the system yet. Basically the central loot will calculate and tabulate where the loot is sparse and distribute loot accordingly. So far have no problems looking for weapons.

Camo building (jail building) is fucked. It's glitch heaven so the devs can't be arsed to fix it properly since the new renderer is coming. So for now, there is no loot spawning there anymore. Everyone ignores this building now.

For real though, it was the persistent servers that really pulled me back in. The possibility of storing items for later use or if you die and need to re-equip is really long time coming. The ability to set up camps, do supply runs to replenish etc.

Oh and crafting is much more than previously now. You can craft ropes, arm bands, sharpen stones, fish traps, rabbit snares, leather bags, leather clothing, dye your t-shirt, torch, fire-making tools (bark and wood) etc.

I am however missing people to play with. So if you still interested, just let me know. I play DayZ and Insurgency so I'm up for either one.

Persistence is not an issue on the public servers i use as my stash server.

Problem I find with Public servers is that, everyone is fully equipped because they farm other un-populated public servers and then have fun in their own time zone public servers.

But in Private servers, you can only farm in that server because your character doesn't carry over. This makes everyone search for limited stuff and sometimes it is by tracking people down and killing them, then you get loot.

Private servers also mean no ghosting kill or logout and login behind your enemies as in Public.

A fully populated private server is fantastic because you know these people who are equipped don't get their gear easily, so fighting and killing them is awesome as you get their loot and store in your secret stash that you hope people won't find.

If you allow people to ghost you, you don't understand tactics. Shoot, move, retreat, wait, ambush.

Most of the people in the NWAF are poor mofos. Mostly holding SKSes otherwise you find some lucky buggers with an AK and one mag. There are no rich people in public. The global loot system is brutal in 0.59, me and my friend easily spend in a week 14 hrs of searching and 7 hrs of hunting.

As for stashes, I had my stashes robbed many times and they were well hidden in non-explored areas of less 10 pop servers.

BTW I am not harping or sneering at you. Just asking my mind :/

This sub is dead as it is. It is nice to actually have someone to talk about DayZ haha.
