I have the same problem as you, the touchscreen no response after unlocking sometimes. But I dont need to power it off, just need to off screen and on again to fix it. The annoying part is it sometimes happen when phone unlocked due to someone call me, touchscreen no response cannot accept the call, have to off screen and on again to accept. It only happens around once or twice a day, but its pretty annoying 

Using stock, and rooted.

one thing i found out about smartphone is, it always detect 3g and 2g network. unlike those old black and white phone. lets say your workplace's line is unstable, it will keep changing from 3g to 2g and vice versa. then your battery will die super fast. i experienced that before. 100% ->50 % in merely 1 hour

same setup! I have three screen. One clean main screen with the wallpapers on automatic change, and two other screens for other widgets, like tasks calendars etc.

hmm, are using an app like screen filter that add shade of dark? tbh, IPS display doesnt benefit much from such solution in terms of screen's power consumption as the power consumption is roughly the same regardless of the colour shown on the screen. IPS is different that AMOLED. AMOLED would benefit from a darker shade in terms of power consumption. (correct me if i am wrong though  )

to save power on AMOLED : screen filter + custom auto brightness
on IPS : auto brightness only

iinm, the only way to save more power on our display is to change the brightness settings. you can use apps like Lux Auto brightness or Velis Auto Brightness or other alternatives. you can customise the brightness level so it is lower than stock. I am using Velis's free version with S-Curve as my default profile, and AMOLED Dim as my profile when i am home.
