at present, in UK certain universities are promoting hard subsea programs.
if one has the discipline may take part time master in subsea engineering or those 3-month short course.

some oilfield technologies companies are opening particular division just focus solely on fabrication and assembly of subsea equipments.

I applied the position through their website early this month.. smile.gif

I see.. that means there are demands for this job in Malaysia marker right?
The only thing that I am concern is the demand of subsea engineer in Malaysia..

If you read in the Rigzone recently, the subsea engineer is one of the top 5 of the highest salary for the 2012...but bear in mind that there also subsea engineer working on board of semisub and drillship rig that take care of the subsea BOP...what i want to highlight here is there will be some different in term of salary between those who on the rig and engineers in the office...

What about those working for subsea service company as project engineer? I am currently working in one of the fabricator, and would like to try my luck in subsea. Please enlighten me on the prospect of subsea enginner doing project and design work as offshore is not really my cup of tea. smile.gif
