why you wanna increase the chance of losing/damaging your MyKad by using it as ATM/T&G? such a hassle if you lose/damage it.
since it doesn't offer any other advantage other than saving you bring 1 extra card, why not just use a ATM/Debit Card or T&G card?
This is almost exactly what the person at JPN Taman Melawati said to me before.
She said that if I were to loose my MyKad it would be troublesome for me.
And I never gave it another thought.
But recently I am quite annoyed with my wallet, being bulgy. Not because there's lot of cash (i wish),
but its full of cards. ATM cards, Medical Cards, Grocery Cards etc. So I was figuring out how to slim out my wallet.
Part of it is to have another wallet just for cards...but then again I have a habit of leaving stuff behind (other than my watch and wallet).
So when I think back of what the JPN person said, it actually doesn't apply to me as I have all my cards in my wallet. So if i loose my wallet,
I would have to go through the same process if I loose my MyKad (with ATM/TnG/etc. in it). So basically her concern doesn't apply here.
As what advocado mentioned about damage, I would put it this way. Id rather have 1 MyKad damaged rather than a few ATM and TnGs damage.
Just saying.
So my only concern now is that can MyKad be used as a debit card? Anyone knows?
