QUOTE(ongweiping @ Mar 5 2013, 08:53 PM) Went to Titan again today. Just my third time, to fix the bottom out issue... Erm... actually didnt went to test, not sure they test it with their crew or not (i think not, lol). They just raise the rear higher, i can put in 3 and a half fingers. Ask them what they do, the technician said higher and harder. Erm, whatever... Went back to genting, and can hear the rear sound return, faint but noticeable, last fix already reduced a lot, now increased a bit. Adui... bro, i think the faint sound u noticed, probably is the tyre sound, due to suspension harder, tyre sound more obvious, not the suspension problem This post has been edited by nzh0920: Mar 6 2013, 09:21 AM |

QUOTE(ongweiping @ Mar 6 2013, 02:29 PM) Huh... ok, its like this: bro, whats your speed that you doing to pass the speedbump? A long long time ago (last month i think), in a place far far away (Ipoh), go out to have dinner with mom, sister and her husband, my bro, sitting in my car, with me driving. Run over the bump, slowly, then "BAM", i was like holy shyt! Then mom and sister start questioning... then another bump. "BAM!" again... Need to go ultra slow to avoid that. Zzz I called WL the day before i went there to fix. Aiks, better go again next time then. Tyre sound, interesting. Maybe today go drive a few round again. Nope, not me. back to genting this morning... You recognized the body kit by looking in that picture! because titan got NO bump stopper , so if bottoming out will got loud sound compared to stock absorber that got big bump stopper. so learn to pass speed bump slowly or may b change the rear coil spring to harder rating as suggested by bro amin to reduce bottoming out issue even when i was on stock suspension, i also pass speedbump slowly, the lifetime also much more longer This post has been edited by nzh0920: Mar 6 2013, 03:17 PM |

yup, already tried with 3 adults. will bottoming out, but what i meant slow is around almost stop speed for those really sharp speedbump. if those smooth one , slower a bit will do.

QUOTE(jnick @ Mar 8 2013, 08:08 PM) linear spring, some spring purposely make it like this cause when the time it get compress, it wont become "bow" like this ![]() 2. Why Swift's longer springs (some of 10" and longer springs) are trapezoid designed? We designed our longer coilover springs for one purpose only; to minimize the chances of the spring from bowing. (Just imagine a spring that buckles as your knee would buckle). That is why we picked the barrel shaped design instead of having a straight shaped spring. Say you have two springs that carries the same free length. One of the springs has more coils wound then the other. The one with more coils will not bow as much as the one with fewer coils. However, when you add more coils, in turn you add more weight while limiting the available stroke in the spring. Swift choose a different approach. We decided to develop a spring that has a barrel shape (Smallest circumference gradually increasing till the center coil of the spring, then decrease in the same ratio). With the barrel shape design, it allows us to utilize fewer coils on the spring, as well as less weight, and also allows us to keep our accurate liner spring characteristics.
