Career in Graphic/Design, but major in sumthin else?

Im almost the same as the threadstarter. Doing major in computer software development but I spend most of my time doing graphics and playing with photoshop

In my case, its the reverse I have a masters in digital design, but I'm working in a courier company. Why? Waiting for the money. But god help me, this is not my passion.
