QUOTE(mikelanding @ Jan 26 2013, 01:29 PM) You can alway ask someone to paypal for you. He accept Interbank transfer too. Want or dont want only. hahaha hmm... you're right.... guess i shall really think whether or not to splash out 1.5k for that keyboard.... Edit: oh... i forgot to mention, the row 5 modifiers and the spacebar.... they're not the standard size..... wont it be difficult to get keycaps for them???? Want to ask, currently only ducky keyboards (other than SS) are using cherry style stabilizers? others so far like rosewill, filco, CM, Razer, Logitech or Corsair all using wire type (not all wire type are costar-made).....

QUOTE(CyntrixTech @ Jan 30 2013, 10:03 PM) ARe you worried about click clacking sound of wire stabilizer? The biggest issue with these stabilizers are squeaking issue. well, not really, because currently im using a blue switch RK9000 and the typing feel is good, just that.... it's a pain in the *** to change the keycaps.... i've removed them once for cleaning (apparently the larger sized keys, the stabilizers and wire appeared to have been lubed), even though i've learnt and watched many vids on how to remove the keycaps from wire stabilizers, it doesnt seem to work properly when im doing it... >.<and that is why im started to fear of it and try seeking some cherry style for a change in the future This post has been edited by rurushu: Jan 30 2013, 10:39 PM |

QUOTE(CyntrixTech @ Jan 30 2013, 10:47 PM) You are going to have to learn that or you are SOL. Well, i did tried and remove the keycaps according to what they teach (WASD's and Squarebox's vid) , leaving the wires on, just the keycap with the white clips, but it appears difficult for me maybe due to the lube as when i tried to remove or put the caps on, the wire wont stay still and keeps collapsing #1 - Ducky - Expensive. Unless you get the PBT keycap, you cannot change caps easily as in cannot find the. So even though you can just pull the caps off, you still have a hard time finding the right caps. #2 - SS - Expensive. Ugly ass chassis. Now then perhaps we can have a mechanical keyboard TT and have some pros teach our friend here how to change the keycaps 1. I thought ducky's keycaps profile is universal like filcos and CM.... they arent using any odd size keycaps or keycap stems which are, say... "unique" 2. I never considered SS because of that enter key.... because i have been using US ANSI layout since i learnt the existence of keyboards, so i cannot live without "long" keys anymore |

QUOTE(CyntrixTech @ Jan 30 2013, 11:02 PM) Well you can use any keycap with Ducky but Ducky is an LED board so you need to look for LED cap unless you are ok with the LED being under the keys and not shine through. This is where classic boards like RK9000 shines. You get a cheap, no nonsense mechanical keyboard, where you can change the caps however you want. I love the RK9000I it's so hot looking and so noisy. It makes me seem like I'm typing really fast and busy so people don't bother me Yea, ducky's capslock and numlock (not sure about scroll lock though) keys are LED mounted, and therefore only theirs or those with a clear "slit" on these keycaps would do it, but for me it is totally fine for them not to shine through because it is very bright and kind of distracting when im watching my animes (the RK9000's blue LEDs.... so freaking bright that whenever im watching my animes in a straight up posture, i would need to turn the numlock off HAHAHHAHAAH...... i definitely know that feel man!!!! Well, currently im still a average typist, but whenever you use the blue switch board with the costar stabilizers, it really is noisy but then you really DO have the feeling like you're typing damn fast |

QUOTE(ainuddin @ Jan 30 2013, 11:16 PM) get ducky. pbt keycaps can shine through also. check my previous post about my rainbow pbt keycaps. very meriah the colour. haha... yea, saw yours back then, heard that you let the LED on so that you dont feel mad about the *censored* on the keycaps XDQUOTE(CyntrixTech @ Jan 30 2013, 11:37 PM) Need to check the pricing first. I'm not sure how many would want to pay RM 200 for a set of keycaps when RM 49 more gets you a complete keyboard whoa~~~ a MAC user???? and also... a white fetishist found! On OSX, the numlock key is permanently on. Tomorrow go back and buy the RK9000I My personal Setup: ![]() Waiting for my HiVi White X3 (ok I probably will keep the X4 but they don't have it in white). ![]() If you are on PC, you can get this instead of the MM. ![]() I actually use an G500. The MM is for show only. |

QUOTE(UserU @ Jan 31 2013, 01:45 AM) What switch do you guys recommend for a balance between typing and gaming? Cherry MX Red or Brown? Both seemed to be quite on par with one another after looking around. err.... again this type of question where the answer is dependent on the user preferences???? i think you need to seriously test them out and imagined your long term usage with them, some can game and type on MX blue, which you never put into your consideration, or sometimes people likes game with this switch, but type on that switch.... so this is totally an "answerless" question to be honest.... |

QUOTE(UserU @ Jan 31 2013, 03:12 AM) I've seen such comments whilst doing the comparison. And I would definitely appreciate some tactile feedback when pressing on a key. so you decided on your switch choice on brown? tell us how you feel after getting your board!!!So I'll go for the Brown one then. Thanks for your input! good luck getting your board!!! |

QUOTE(zongeva @ Jan 31 2013, 07:22 AM) CM Storm Trigger, QuickFire TK, Corsair K60/K90, Logitech G710+, Rosewill RK9100, Leopold and Ducky are using Cherry style stabilizers. oh.... thanks for the info zongeva!!! My friend just bought the TK, while the backplate reflection on the backlight is certainly amazing in the first glance, it also made the switch misalignment problem quite significant. Overall quite solid, but definitely not the choice for those picky perfectionists. QUOTE(0168257061 @ Jan 31 2013, 10:31 AM) yea, agreed.... that is why i only buy keyboards with "standard" layout, or "majority layout" XDthe most i will go to are those with 1.5x modifiers, which are still ok and not as hard or awkward to find as those "random" stems or "random" lengths.... QUOTE(wyh @ Jan 31 2013, 10:33 AM) trueeee.. getting a mech kb must have 50:50 ratio of quality and easily accessibility of keycaps if not it looks like typical kb lol |

QUOTE(wyh @ Jan 31 2013, 02:43 PM) Lol, i like tactile feeling that is why die die i blue switch lover. But when you try brown its like a lil or no tactile and then not as good as red . so its like 50:50 which does not make up well for me lol, Just my opinion la. Anyway go try brown switch and let me know your opinion (: guess you, me, zongeva and cyntrix all have same preference i also liked blue for typing and after trying them (blue, red, brown and black), i felt red would be the only other switch i would buy other than blue.... unless i have chance to test out other exotic switches like clears, grey or green. |

QUOTE(CyntrixTech @ Jan 31 2013, 03:08 PM) For the lacked of better word - half @ssed. Nooo...I said it after trying myself on blacks, boy it felt so heavy, just after typing a few sentences already felt kind of tired of pressing, however i think if gaming maybe good as you mostly rest your fingers on selected keys... unless you chat alot in-game But from a business perspective, it is the best selling switch of all time. I think there's probably too much influence from the net or something. Blue = The de facto typist switch. Noisy, clicky, no rough friction when being depressed Red/Black = The de facto gaming/silent switch. Preference really depends on how phat your finger is. Red is good but if you have heavier fingers black would make a better choice. But I guess in Asia red sells better. In USA, I'd even go as far as saying that in TEXAS, black would sell better. I think most people will only come to this conclusion if you have more than 1 keyboards. If not, brown does make a good compromise. But TBH, if I had to compromise, I'd take red and deal with more typos. |

QUOTE(bv2427 @ Jan 31 2013, 03:45 PM) If you don't like Browns and feel that Blacks are too heavy for your liking then theoretically you won't like Clears, Greys or Greens as Browns = Clears/Greys but stiffer where Greys are stiffer than Clears and Greens are a stiffer Blues. i see.... then i guess blues and reds are fine with me Rosewill RK9000. They do come with Blues and still have a promo price of RM249 which you can get at Heavy Arm SS15. |

QUOTE(joonwei23 @ Feb 1 2013, 09:38 AM) Hello, anyone know where can I get a wire keycap puller ? can get filco keypuller from heavyarm, around RM20 to RM25 if not mistaken, got one myself from him last time, forgotten the exact price And is it fine if I wash my key caps with warm water and soap ? Thanks again. last time kai said that he cleans his keycaps with a few tabs of dental tabs with warm water, just put some at bottom, then put keycaps, then put some on top as well, then pour warm water on them and wait for 30 minutes+, rinse, clean and dry... |
