Why? Costar is just a manufacturer. They build keyboards based on the specification clients supplied. Although the RK9000 uses the same PCB as Filco, Rosewill/Costar made a mistake with the USB port design and cause a large recall on the keyboards. Filco didn't have this problem because they went with the non detachable cable design.
The RK9200 helios is based on Costar's prototype Dual led board design. They have some problems that they are fixing now, if not we would have already received the goods and delivered the first dual LED mechanical keyboard to the market.
well, the QC is what that is important, and reputation builds upon them....
maybe that is why i am always more assured when getting Costar's stuff

Vortex KBT Pure seems really nice but it ain't the one I'm looking for...
Why can't they just make one standard 60% keyboard, with the function keys and no weird changes to the keys
haha.... couldnt agree more, you show check the GH60 thread in GH, there are more "bizzare" layout which i just dont understand, but it could just be me....
so far i like only 2 layout for the 60% boards, one is the Poker with standard US ANSI layout, and the other one being the 1.5x modifiers US ANSI cherry old layout....
