Well, I'm just sharing it's may not that be that bad a gimp on damage if you go on alternatives rather than the standard 2h xbow with quiver setup. But if you are a harringtons user, then it must be 2h xbow. If you are playing on lower torments with a group, perhaps it's better to equip a calamity and nats slayer (multishot lays m4d to every creep and nats combo gives hell lots of discipline). You could run faster with this setup as you also don't need to lay 5 sentries. Note in my testing of two one-handers, I'm only using a 115% emerald for one of my bows I have not tested 1h with quiver as instead of the normal 20+mill crit, it gives me avg 12mill crit so I didn't bother testing, I'm surprised with lksing's tests!! Perhaps it shoots faster.

With Patch 2.1 around the corner, many classes are receiving some substantial revisions to core functionalities. These changes have equally substantial philosophy behind them, so we want to prepare you in advance for the kinds of adjustments you should expect.
Preparation (Punishment) was creating less than ideal gameplay by encouraging the conversion of Discipline to direct DPS. The byproduct of this was Demon Hunters frequently finding themselves without their defensive or utility skills, often resulting in more frequent character death. To address this, we are reworking this rune to no longer cost Discipline, but have a 20 second cooldown.
While this change may initially seem severe, it has several major benefits we hope players will take the opportunity to explore and experiment with: All Discipline is now reserved for defensive and utility skills, encouraging Demon Hunters to take greater advantage of these skills. Nightstalker will feel less mandatory in conjunction with Punishment, freeing up a Passive slot in many builds. If you choose to keep Preparation (Punishment) in your build, the cooldown corresponds with roughly how long it would take to regenerate the appropriate amount of Discipline (unless you had a large amount of Resource Cost Reduction). Cooldown Reduction is now a more attractive stat, and this may open up new CDR-focused builds.
We know this changes builds and the gameplay pattern for some Demon Hunters. We’re also working hard to adjust other skills as well as introduce Legendary items both in this patch and constantly in the future in order to continue opening up new and exciting ways to play.
This change will soon be available on the PTR, and we hope that you will take the opportunity to try it out and let us know how it feels. We're eager to hear your feedback on this and other changes coming in Patch 2.1.

QUOTE(jaychow @ Jun 19 2014, 10:45 AM) Actually I am looking forward to a viable 'melee' DH ninja build(fan of knifes?) ... looks quite badass with a shard of hate equipped Maybe more viable with the later patch when dex=armor and you can facetsnk stuff better since this build depends on getting hit. QUOTE(jaychow @ Jun 19 2014, 10:58 AM) Agree of the choices, just hate to say that to be viable (ez mode) on T6 at the moment is mara6 + 2h xbow. With the current build aoe is imba, but can't do jack on single targeted dps where sometimes goblins live another day cause my sentries are not paying attention and hit other stuff Still don't have my calamity yet; would like to try the aoe m4d combo Sometimes have to try new things to stop feeling so stale with no upgrades haha QUOTE(amiranna @ Jun 19 2014, 12:58 PM) still no TnT and bombadier.. kadala I play dh most of the time still not seen these two yet This post has been edited by wlcling: Jun 19 2014, 01:36 PM

more ghom t6 tests on sentry build
2h xbow with emerald & quiver (with m4d contagion) - 22s 2h xbow with ruby & quiver (with m4d contagion) - 26s
nats bow with calamity (with m4d contagion) - 25s nats bow with calamity - 25s calamity with quiver - 27s nats bow with calamity, (3 hatred spenders CA/MS/Impale instead of 2) - 30s
summary:- a) don't seem to see m4d stacking on calamity and an active m4d contagion rune b) 2h xbow with emerald & quiver is the best c) yes, 3 hatred spenders do suck

Lightning sentry build with gloom will be damn tanky.
Overall very good changes
Impale and the what u call it "fast fire thingie - ratatattata" will be damn awesome against single targets but will shine with a buriza
Low torments - strafe with impale/ratatata will be godly fast

Lol a well geared wd can do t6 as fast as a dh in t3
I think a well geared cru can do t6 as fast as a dh in t4
Maybe a consolation is a dh can clear t3 faster than any other class

QUOTE(Boonie @ Jul 2 2014, 05:53 PM) more question: some utube i recently watched says if i had 2x hand xbow (1h) and each has a crit gem (130%). only one is counted for each shot. is that true? Take gem out from just one handbow and see if there's diff in alternating dmg. I believe both are counted to total crit dmg in each shot. QUOTE(Boonie @ Jul 2 2014, 05:54 PM) also i got a T&T, but the firing rates of my spenders from the sentri doesnt seems to have increased... what is the problem? Make sure 2 hatred spender only. Ms and ca

I think wyrdward stun on lightning dmg does not apply to sentry shots.
But yeah lightning sentries are really cool for t6

QUOTE(deathTh3Cannon @ Aug 26 2014, 12:45 PM) got a kmar tenclip.. is strafe build viable for t6? 2 issues here. Kmar sucks for strafe because fast attk drains hatred Strafe itself not so good for high torment. But damn good for low t!!
