QUOTE(peachmonkey @ Jan 31 2013, 09:27 AM)
Hi all.

Finally managed to update my firmware to JB this morning. My phone version (as displayed when pressing *#1234#) is as below:

AP : I9300XXEMA2
CP : I9300DXELK1
CSC : I9300OLBEMA1

Actually during the update (I was using ODIN), it Failed during the first attempt. Not sure what to do I disconnected the phone, entered download mode again and tried flashing again. Luckily it worked tongue.gif

My question is, would there be any issues due to the initial update failure? Do I need to Reset my phone back to Factory Setting? If I reset back to Factory Setting, will it keep the JB firmware or will it reset back to the original firmware when I bought the phone (ICS 4.0.4 I think)?

Factory reset will wipe all data and settings. Up to you if you want to do it... you may consider it since you're worried about your ODIN failure.
Factory reset may also wipe your "/sdcard" as it seems it is the case if it is done for the 1st time (subsequent times may not). Be sure to backup.
Backup any apps+apps data that you want to keep (requires root and software like Titanium Backup)
The firmware (ROM) is not touched at all; it can only be changed when you flash the new firmware.
=> you will remain on the JB firmware that you flashed

haiz..hv no idea too..before this ady changed mobo in lowyat sc..

jlik2929
Maybe a leftover issue from however the SC fixed your mobo last time...

After you backup your apps+data, just reset your CSC country code to correct one (XME).. if you want to continue staying on Malaysia stock ROM, I suggest that.

If you're a hardcore flasher of non-stock ROM then nevermind....

so you think is better to wait the OTA queue or change the CSC?

BTW, now in stock ROM any way to full backup all the things 1st?

thanks to everyone who contributed suggestions.. thumbup.gif

Read all the backup links on the 1st page.
Apps+Data backup you need to be rooted; and use apps such as titanium backup
SMS+Call Logs backup - download the free apps from Google Play

I think you should let SC to handle it. thumbup.gif

jlik2929
That's quite true too... if you have the time, go to the SC that fixed your mobo and demand they fix your problem with Kies too smile.gif
Don't expect them to backup and restore your data though... A full wipe should be expected

my current charging shows,

999
300

haish..

Very bad cable or charger you have there...

FYI - the only reading to check is actually the middle one.
Takes its value from the file (for Samsung devices)
/sys/class/power_supply/battery/current_avg

Wonder why you guys like this XDA app? Since only the middle reading (current_avg) is updated?; isn't CurrentWidget easier to use? tongue.gif

i have changed the charger cable and my current is,

999
1000
1000

and when 90-100%, the current shows

999
900
900

is it normal?
*
Yes, at around 90%, the charging changes to trickle charging. This is NORMAL, all new-gen phones+lithium batteries have this type of charging (to prevent overcharging etc)

The fastest charging, maybe 10% every 10 minutes only happens below 60% to 50%, then it changes to about 5% to 7%. You can find this out yourself using "Battery Monitor Widget".

is that normal to charge from 18% to 100% by using 4hours++?
*
If stock charger+cable, then no. At best should be 2.5 hours or less. At worse should be 3 hours for stock JB ROM+stock kernel.
My guess is that somehow the charge gets detected as USB though you're using wall charger...

Look like 4.1.2 drain battery fast
*
Maybe drain just a little faster than 4.1.1....
Sidenote: which is why I have gone back to perseus kernel from stock 4.1.2 after testing few days.

I  close all program even close the functikn multi windows.normally morning full charge can last until night.but now ady 2pm just left 40%

Did you happen to enable Google Now on 4.1.2 while disabling it on 4.1.1?
Media Scanner may also be the cause if you have new images/videos... it does eat up battery life.

Maybe IMEI has changed; if so I believe you have to contact papago to have new keys for your license codes.

Guys..

After update to 4.1.2 and i reroot my s3..i notice the red examination mark on the boot screen.

Heard tat triangle away can solve it, so i had a tried using it. But no good, my s3 screen flashes strangly (like graphic artifacts) at the s3 boot screen after the warning reminder,  and blackout itself. Remove the battery and lucky phone able to on. Scare the hell out of me!!!

Now the red sign still there. Any advice to remove it? not dare to try triangle away anymore  =(

You have the new bootloader from 4.1.2. As far as I know, if using new bootloader, nothing triangle away can do to fix the exclamation mark (if you are rooted). It will only disappear when you're on stock unrooted after factory reset (must be on stock recovery as well; no custom recovery)

Try to flash the provided bootloaders here (AT YOUR OWN RISK)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2083860
Or see 1st page, XeactorZ has the XDA post which has old bootloader attached as well (AT OWN RISK)

If comfortable with ADB, you can follow the steps here (AT YOUR OWN RISK)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2081748

NOTE: It has been speculated (by AndreiLux) that the new bootloader protects against Sudden Death in 'download' mode. So flash old bootloader ONLY if that is not important to you.

what is that??

See FIRST page for "How to root?". It is the app developed by Chainfire (he developed the ExynosAbuse you were using as well) and available on XDA.
