Hey guys just a quick question can I use the other SGS3 version aka i747 or T999 instead of the international version i9300 in malaysia? Both model mentioned are US variant of SGS with dual core and LTE compatible.

Yes... as long as they support Egde and 3G..

I am still waiting for malaysia official 4.1.2, not able to help.. meaning you test and use all premium suite functions?

Hi all,

Need some help with my S3.

I'm currently running on ICS and am planning to flash to JB 4.1.2 (Italy).

My questions is:
1. Can I use the Italy firmware on my Malaysia phone? Or is there any other region firmware that I should use?
2. Can I just flash over the JB firmware over my ICS? Or should I do a factory reset first?

Your Q1.A = "YES" Q1.B = "No need"
Your Q2 is = preferable or you can wait until you experience problem like slow charging, FC, slow and etc..

Will factory resetting my phone delete all data including in the external SD Card?

Yes please refer to page 1 for guide or wait Malaysia firmware out anytime. You also need to reset your phone after upgrade to Italy JB

Internal data only gone if you factory reset Extanal sd data untouch

Just reset after flash. To be safe. For me I factory reset each time after flash to new Rom rather wait for F C.

I see. That mean now I can just flash over JB on my phone, and once that's completed I should do a factory reset with the new JB installed right?

1. use the latest one from Singapore
2. yes u can. but why u still ICS? malaysia already hv JB 4.1.1 right? if you are coming from Custom ICS such as CM or any AOSP, i'm suggest, do factory reset first. if Stock ICS, can straight away flash JB
