Hi all.

I'm planning to update my firmware from I9300XXLG8 to the latest JB firmware (I9300XXEMA1).
Can I just flash over using ODIN or should I perform a factory reset first? BTW, will be okay if I use the Italy firmware?

Need some help with my S3.

I'm currently running on ICS and am planning to flash to JB 4.1.2 (Italy).

My questions is:
1. Can I use the Italy firmware on my Malaysia phone? Or is there any other region firmware that I should use?
2. Can I just flash over the JB firmware over my ICS? Or should I do a factory reset first?

I see. That mean now I can just flash over JB on my phone, and once that's completed I should do a factory reset with the new JB installed right?

Hi all.

Finally managed to update my firmware to JB this morning. My phone version (as displayed when pressing *#1234#) is as below:

AP : I9300XXEMA2
CP : I9300DXELK1
CSC : I9300OLBEMA1

Actually during the update (I was using ODIN), it Failed during the first attempt. Not sure what to do I disconnected the phone, entered download mode again and tried flashing again. Luckily it worked

My question is, would there be any issues due to the initial update failure? Do I need to Reset my phone back to Factory Setting? If I reset back to Factory Setting, will it keep the JB firmware or will it reset back to the original firmware when I bought the phone (ICS 4.0.4 I think)?
