hi to all...
sorry...i'm here for this forum...don't know how it works yet... but i do have a question..
i'm going to buy Acer Aspire 5672WLMi..with ATi Radeon MObility x1400 that has (128 MB VRAM and 384 MB shared RAM)...the laptop comes with 512 MB RAM...
i want to upgrade it to 1 G RAM...
my question is...let say i have 1024 ram...minus the share 384 ram... i have 640 ram for balance...minus the pcf usage around (300ram).. and i left with 340 ram...does it enough for me? i into gaming and does it enough for me to play games like doom or quake4? and i'm using autocad 2004 to...will it sufficient?

try decreasing the shared ram of ur gc inside bios. i dont think u need a total of 512mb ram for gc. that would free up ur actual ram alot.

when ur pc is booting up, try pressing the 'del' key and change the values inside bios.
if u mean that ur physical ram is 512mb, ur vram is 128mb, that means ur left wif only 384mb for ur windows applications.

since ur total ram is 512mb, but the gc oredi took up 128mb, then left is 384mb.
try right-clicking on "my computer" and click properties, and check ur ram there.

so that means ur gc is taking up 128mb ram out of the 512mb ram. u can also increase/decrease the amout of ram the gc can allocate from inside bios.
